Actually when you figure in the cost of the oil burn with 2 strokes you come out ahead with Verado 4 strokes.

There are 2 Fountain 31 CC in my neighborhood. 1 has 225 Opti's the other has 2-250...

Mark the cost of oil for the 2-stroke will end up costing you more money. 4 stroke are where it's at for the future in outboards. I do not miss my 2 strokes at all. The Verado's do great with gas...

I have 3- 275 Verado's on the back of my 38TE Fountain. I have 115 hrs on them and they have been perfect engines. They do not eat oil and are excellent on fuel as long as you keep the rpms below...
