Default Good Vacation lake in Texas or anywhere in SC US

Looking for a Lake that is open, has boat rentals and hotels on the water. Looking for spots in Texas, or anywhere else in South Central US. Any ideas?

Lake Texoma is hard to beat, but no hotels on the water, some just off the water. If it's open water running you seek need to go to Texoma or Clear Lake or one of the bigger lakes or perhaps a coastal bay.

Lake Conroe has some hotels on the water, rentals, and a great waterfront scene almost like something you'd see in Miami. Lots of waterfront homes for rent as well.

If you want LOTO style entertainment, then you can't beat LOTO. But if you want a more laid back vacation with small town charm, you can look at Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley (they are connected) in western KY.

Several marinas have cabins, etc. Several powerboats, a party cove, many private coves, etc. But it is laid back.

Let me know if you need more info. If you know Devin, ask him about our lakes - he was just here over the weekend for our poker run.
