looking at these two sites its showing that a crew cab 4wd f150 can tow 3k# less than its big brother...Am i missing something? I always thought the f150 was rated for about 8k#
If im looking to tow a Gladiator (8k#dry) would it make sense to go with a f150 if i dont tow far?

Here is my thought about all these tow ratings. Any truck can pull your trailer down the road. I used to pull a 28' enclosed car trailer with a 1990 454 SS truck ( 3/4 ton running gear on a 1/2 frame). It is when you want to stop and when you HAVE to stop that makes all the difference between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton and the 1 ton.

go with the 3/4 ton...I pull a 28 Saber wih my 2010 1/2 ton and I feel a major difference between 40 gal of fuel and 80 gal of fuel in the boat. phughes is right it is not the going you have as much problem with it is the stopping!
