getting more serious in my search, I have only seen one LTZ that listed it with a 6.2, I noticed they discountinued the option in 2011 so i will probably have to get a 5.3, my wife wants white so it becomes very difficult to find everything in a used vehicle.

Are 3.42 gears automatically included with a tow package?

Also, what's the feedback on using a car seat with the bucket seats in second row?

Thanks

Got my son a 6.2 truck ltz. Big difference in 6.2 (detuned corvette motor) vs 5.3 in acceleration and pulling. Don't be scared of people saying it gets worst fuel mileage. Cruise set at 65 mph and dorm room junk in the rear we averaged 21.6 mpg on a 240 mile trip.

4x4, hypertech programmer, full dual exhaust. It is not the low gear model( can't think what that badge saids on the door panel of that model) do you have that model with the low gears?

Our LT came with autoride, sunroof, and tow package. LTZ must be the chrome door handles and the 6.2L. It was lowered about 3" so we had to remove the autoride. Ours had (just got rid of it a couple of months ago) the 5.3L got about 20mpg on the freeway. It wasn't not great to tow anything heavy with...6.2L would have been nice.

I have a 2010 LTZ 5.3. Any "easy" upgrades you guys would recommend to beef it up for towing? I don't tow anything very heavy or often, just a 25 bow rider on occasion. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just bought an '07 Denali with the 6.2 and bucket 2nd row seats. The 6.2 is a lot more motor than the 5.3. We had an Avalanche with the 5.3 and 3.73's and this Denali will run crcles arounds it, as far as power.

I think in the Tahoe's the 6.2 is somewhat rare, but it's standard in the Denali's.

As for the rear bucket's and a carseat, it's no problem. We actually prefer the buckets because it's easier to access the third row, especially with children.

I think 09' is when the Tahoe got the 6 speed auto for the 5.3, makes a massive difference... the ol' 4 speed is just mehhh. Makes the trucks feel barely adequate and geared too long. If anyone is looking for a used 5.3, find a 6 speed auto and you'll be glad you did over the cheaper price of say an 07'.

The 6.2's love mods though, few bolt ons and tune (which any good LS tuner can do) wakes these trucks up, they can flat out haul ass for their size lol. I do hate how the 3rd row doesn't fold flat like Fords ingenious setup, if you take it out then you have to store the seat and you have the groves and clips etc open from the seat. But I know they can't do the setup Ford has b/c of the live axle.
