My trailer has oil bath hubs and when I purchased the boat they had all been packed with grease. I proceeded to pull them all apart, put new seals/bearings, and return them to oil bath. The only reason I did this is because we use our trailer just like an 18 wheeler, and it is never dunked into the water. Every weekend the boat is taken off and put into the trailer with a crane. They have run perfect for me but keep in mind that I never dunked the trailer and my trip from our shop to the marina is about 50 miles each way.
