1980 30' Velocity - Redo in progress

Mine is also on a piece of U-Channel. It's enough that I can reach the battery with cables to charge the battery. Which I know because I had to do it a couple weeks back.
Don't mind the black soot. This was the best pic I had. The second is after. Same setup.

So the Channel hinges when you manually raise the hatch? I see how it would just push with the actuator. Seems there are really 3 different strategies:
1. Add a plug for powering with external 12v power
2. Add a tube with slots that would allow the hatch to be lifted a bit to get to the battery
3. Add this u-channel type hinge to allow hatch to be lifted a bit to get to the battery
I'm already wiring for number 1. May just leave it at that for now but still considering options. With number 1, it is only useful if you have 12v. on board that you can use to lift it. I kinda think that is a good idea to have anyway. The portable jump starters are so small now it would be nice to have.

On the hatch lift bracket, I installed dual Lenco Lifts on my boat and used these slide brackets:

The list...90 to go.
Hatch lift is done, charging system, galvanic isolator, helm switch panel, gps, cabin lights, and shore power done. Getting after it again. My list had 98 items left which includes every little thing like (order oil, measure for throttle cables, order throttle cables, etc...). I figured detail is good and I'm checking off a few items every day which is just motivating. Current to-do's left - 90. Still seems like a long road but seeing end of tunnel. Boat lift is fully operational but I bought a jetboat that is now using it haha.
December is about steering hoses, throttle and shift controls. Many parts are off to the powder coat guy as soon as I can go get gauge bezels from boat.
Engines will be primed and turned over this month as they have been sitting...

My thought is if it ever goes out I can pull up enough to reach in and pull the pin out.
