I can't really get in there. I guess in a pinch I could pill the pins on the back hinges.

On my 280 there is a piece of u channel between the ram and hatch. I can lift the front of the hatch up about 4" to get my hand in to pull the pin out to get in in an emergency. I can take a picture the next time I have the boat cover off.

I add a trolling motor plug under the seat wired directly to the lift motor. Easy to connect a jump box or charger. I always carry hand held jump box just incase there is a problem.

underpsi68 I have seen this solution. I'm sure I'm being optimistic, but I'm worried about the hatch lifting at speed, especially with the scoops.

Cig3 - BOOM! This is the idea I was looking for. Easy and effective. Ordering now - THANKS! Worst case scenario, I could pull someone's battery and set it in the boat to get hatch up but I do like the jump box. Only thing this doesn't address is if the lift actually fails. Still might find a way to get to the pin from under seat. Maybe even a little cable I can yank.

Yes.

I was looking for this some years back for a customers boat, and I found a post by Member Panther, where he did this to his Apache. Brilliant !
Customer did not want me to do this, in the end, so I have no pics. If you can't find the post (the search suks on OSO), I would PM him. Very nice and helpful guy!

My 22 has the same set up. It serves two purposes... allows access if no power, and in my case, lifts the hatch about 6' higher than the ram will lift it.

I would definitely like pics of this setup. Any issues with hatch bouncing or lifting up while under power?

No bouncing or lifting at all. I can email pictures toward the end of the week/weekend. Just pm me your email.

If you have a cigarette lighter socket you can also make a plug and back feed it through a booster battery.

I checked how much I can lift up my hatch with the u channel today. The hatch will lift up 15-18", more than enough to reach in and pull the release pin. I did take a few pictures if anyone is interested.
