Only the best, quality, brand name parts available were used on this Outlaw ! This is a 81.4 MPH (GPS) rocket ship with a full fuel tank and 2 people ! This was a dealer specifically ordered boat for a 2002 boat show and this Outlaw is equipped with some unique options not normally found on most all standard BAJA 25 Outlaws. I'm the documented second owner of this Outlaw and it has been 100% fresh water use only. This boat has always been out of the water on a custom boat lift, when not in use, by myself and the first owner, thereby eliminating any bottom hull gel coat discoloration. The factory white bottom gel coat is still pristine, in like new condition and has no stains whatsoever ! Every little, minute detail was thoroughly thought out, taken into consideration in order to make this the most user friendly, unique, impressive engine compartment of any BAJA OUTLAW on the water anywhere and all installed and executed professionally ! Nothing was overlooked and no expense was spared at all, with an emphasis on the highest quality products and workmanship ! This is a work of master mechanical craftsmanship and quality second to none you have ever seen ! Serious BAJA owners and performance boat buyers will fully appreciate all these details in depth, as well as the costs associated with all of it. ENGINE: 700 HP Whipple Super Charged EFI custom built performance engine set at a conservative 5 # of boost, 5150 WOT RPM's = 81.4 GPS MPH and it's a very stable, safe handling high performance "sleeper" boat that's exciting to drive and ride in ! 700 HP SC EFI engine completely "custom built" by master engine builder Jason Saris of Performance Marine in Lake George, NY, with the goal of building this complete custom hi-performance engine as a very conservative engine using minimal boost and lower WOT RPM's for longevity (thereby not having to be rebuilt after every 50 hours of use) with excellent docking manners but still achieve the goal of making this an 80+ MPH safe handling super, reliable high performance, one of a kind boat ! It's equipped with an awesome performance power plant with instant throttle response and very reliable. This engine has 33 hours of break-in running time use on it since built by Jason. The factory 496 Mag HO was taken out with 168 engine hours on it, as well as the Bravo One outdrive with Imco single ram factory installed hydraulic power steering and the Corsa Silent Choice switchable exhaust system. Then the real custom work began... This project then started with over 100 hours spent cleaning, painting and completely re-rigging the entire engine compartment, spray painting the entire engine compartment in bright yellow automotive finish with clear coat applied to that finish. High polished aluminum diamond plate was bent and installed on the engine compartment floors going over the top of the stringers. Two new batteries were mounted forward in new Dana Marine red anodized battery hold downs, one battery on each side of the engine compartment for balance, moving the battery weight as far forward as possible and brand new battery cables were custom made, running inside a 1 1/2" white rubber marine hose at the front bottom wall of the engine compartment, secured with SS cushion clamps. The existing factory battery disconnect switch, located under the rear seat cushion on the driver's side, is still used to turn the batteries on or off. Everything was relocated and tucked tightly back into the corners of the engine compartment to maximize the open space. Plastic mirrors were installed on the underside of the hatch lid to reflect the beauty of this engine compartment when open and red LED lights are installed all the way around underneath three sides of the engine compartment and 2 surface mount red LED lights are mounted one on each side for very impressive night use. The factory hydraulic electric actuator motors that lift the hatch open were painted Mercury Racing Blue Metallic, chrome sleeves were installed over the hydraulic cylinders and quick connect electrical connections were installed to the electric motors for easy removal to work on either side of the engine. The Whipple Supercharger was completely rebuilt by Whipple, as it was formerly used for a Holley carb setup, then converted over for EFI and painted Mercury Racing Blue Metallic. Due to the increased need for more fresh air flow Into the engine compartment, three (3) new Dana Marine polished additional rectangular vents were installed, one in the center rear and one each on the sides and the factory white vents at the rear were replaced with Dana Marine red anodized rectangular vents . New clear blower vent hoses were installed to allow the yellow color to show through them. The factory installed Perko automatic fire extinguisher / fire suppression system was left undisturbed and is fully functional. The Bravo One XR oil reservoir was moved and raised up higher. A new Teague Marine high capacity billet aluminum fuel filter was mounted on the driver's side of the transom and high enough to place a drain pan underneath it to catch the excess fuel when changing the oversized high capacity fuel filter. An hour meter is also mounted on the driver's side of the engine compartment and angled forward with a yellow Eddie Marine anodized bezel. All wires and hoses were covered with either yellow or blue split wire loom fastened with color coordinated yellow and/or blue wire ties. Also installed was a Harden Marine polished aluminum oil Puke Tank breather collection unit, that was mounted high up on the rear center of the transom with a brass drain valve and it's used to capture any and all oil fumes and oil discharges through the valve cover vents, to keep the engine compartment absolutely oil free and clean at all times. Even the bilge pump hose was changed to a clear hose so the yellow color could be seen through the hose and a new bilge pump was installed.
