Activator Molds Sold???

Just read that all the Activator molds were sold. Heard someone in the Northeast bought them and also heard the company will release a 28' as well. Any pics or information on the new deal??

Rage Powerboats

You've heard right, it is true the Activator molds have been purchased by Northeast Performance Marine Group in Bridgeport, CT. They are being marketed as Rage Powerboats along with a new model, the 28' Sport with a few already built. Here are a few pictures:

MahopacMarine 02-22-2011 01:54 PM

Great looking boats! I am going to have to stop on by to check these out!

Tom

DPT MOTORSPORTS 02-22-2011 01:54 PM

Thanks for the updates. Just curious is this the same Rage Powerboats that was around years back from the Connecticut area? I remember a gentleman that use to run the American Express D-Class Raceboat years back was either the owner or a partner in it. They first had a cat they were marketing at first. Best of luck with the new endeavor!!!

rageman28 02-22-2011 02:51 PM

The 28 is a completely new boat, built with vinyl ester resin, divinicell foam totaly vacume bagged. LIFETIME hull warranty. The bottom is lazer straight with no pad and one step.

DPT MOTORSPORTS 02-22-2011 03:05 PM

What power is the first one being rigged with?

rageman28 02-23-2011 07:03 AM

first power in new 28

The firsthead 28 is getting rigged with a super cat motor we had laying around. We took out some compression but have done extensive head work. Will dyno, expect 725 hp. The second boat is getting a 525.

Chris 02-23-2011 08:12 AM

nice looking boats!

Nice looking boat. More photos when the engines are installed please.

z.zuperboat 02-26-2011 07:31 AM

Thats not an Activator. Unless they did lots of mold changes. The upper deck had sharper edges !! The rear seat came up to make to motors more accessible !! The bottom had more than 1 step !!! It looks more like an eliminator than an Activator !! Still a nice looking boat. But will it run like an Activator.

rageman28 02-26-2011 08:05 AM

Zsuperboat, this is a brand new hull and deck design by Mark the original designer of all the Activators. As mentioned before Rage powerboats also owns all the Activator molds even the 30.l

KEVLARKAT32 02-26-2011 07:53 PM

Great looking boat !!! It would be nice to offer without swim platform

BronxPhantom106 02-27-2011 07:26 PM

so can the new rage outrun the bat boat

z.zuperboat 02-28-2011 08:18 PM

Now it all clicks. Mark is partners with you now, thats why the boats look alot alike. He can build anything. I think he even built some early cats. Mite be the cobra cat. Anyway good luck with the new boats and keep pumping out those 30,s

monstaaa 03-01-2011 08:00 PM

indeed a nice looking boat. i am a big fan of the 27 steped or straight.. have rigged a many of them from mild to wild. if the need arrises,,,

PARADISE ISLAND 03-02-2011 05:55 AM

So Mark&Angelo are no longer building Activators?

eagledm44 03-02-2011 09:22 AM

I have seen these boats up close and the workmanship is flawless. They are all of what I expected and will be there for the first run. Congrats to Mark and crew.

blkmtrfan 03-02-2011 11:14 AM

Can the 28 be rigged with outboards?

I know you said you have all the molds, just curious if you
have the 22' as well?

Thanks

blkmtrfan 03-02-2011 11:23 AM

I just did a search and answered my own question about the 22'

http://rageboats.com/models.html

And I must say, I would love to see some pictures of a 22" Center Console

ItsPeanut 03-02-2011 05:04 PM

Nice looking boat blkmtrfan

Philm 03-03-2011 04:15 AM

If you click on the 28 picture, it says a top speed of 90+mph. Is this with a 525efi??? I am slightly doubtful of that claim if that is the case. Even the SVL boats are only running in the low-mid 90's with that power.

Great looking boats though, I always liked that 30' Activator with the wild paintjob that was for sale on here a little while back.

Gladhe8er 03-03-2011 10:47 AM

In the "About us" it says the new 28 can be rigged with outboards. I imagine then that you could get a stern drive without the built in swim platform? Would that make it a 26 footer?

28 is a sharp looking boat however I am curious why
the 22deg V instead of a 24deg..
Seems like it would make it more of a lake boat?

You go post that in the Kryponite Forums...:lolhit:

Chris 03-03-2011 03:29 PM

the 32 sport looks like an old 32 Tempest

ActiveFun 03-04-2011 02:37 PM

Why would they go away from a proven hull and change it? Why would they not keep the Activator name which has such good brand recognition?

PARADISE ISLAND 03-04-2011 08:02 PM

2 different boats are being discussed here. The proven Activator molds are owned by the folks that are currently producing a "new" boat line called Rage Powerboats.

You can purchase a new proven Activator or the all new Rage they are built in the same place with the same high quality and rigging as early days.

ActiveFun 03-04-2011 08:56 PM

I understand. I just meant with such a winning name and great reputation, why change the name?

BronxPhantom106 03-08-2011 06:38 PM

The new 28 rage and 30 rage r the real deal they will be bad ass. These guys have the right idea on what to do its a 1 stop shop.

ActiveFun 03-08-2011 07:16 PM

Why not use the Activator name? The winningest F1 boat out there? Why Rage?

Panther 03-17-2011 07:39 AM

Good luck guys!

34disturbed 05-23-2011 03:08 PM

The 22' bottom is going to give them the best of both worlds if they still have the old activator molds, cause the kryptonite was so fast in average to rough water and couldn't hold it in the heavy snotty water and I'm sure these guys know this! Now they can tear up all water conditions!!!! Honestly looks like a kryptonite to me...I luv it good luck

My Dad stopped by 2 weeks ago and he said they were real close to being done, so it wouldn't surprise me if they tested it. Can't wait to see one on the water.
