i ran my imcos at 850 and never an issue, 975 now and i expect the same, the 32s needed the protection because they had crazy engines in them, they were better balanced without all the weight and faster. id bet on a complete imco than a 6 up to about 1100 hp, and the boat would be faster.

I just put a build together with mark for a 30’ sv poker run. I was gonna go with a 700 #6 package but I decided to go with the Shafiroff 588 1k hp blower motor and a imco drive. And reasons being 1 not needing a inboard transmission is a bonus 2 nxt transmissions suck so would probably immediately do some type of velvet drive/bam and 3 I feel like the 700 wouldn’t be enough bark at the dock with dry pipes

It's a shame Mercury doesn't offer the 700 as just a engine. I kinda wanted to stick with Mercury power for when that day comes for re-sale.

I agree and plus good luck getting Mercury parts right now if something takes a ****! I got a price on a teague 825 and for the money the Shafiroff 588 is best bang for the buck with good solid numbers.

Congrats on the build. Mark builds a great boat. Shafiroff has a great reputation. Some big stainless marine exhaust and an Imco dual shaft lower. 110 plus
