Question?
First, I read in Powerboat Mag (which I don't take as always accurate) a month or two back that Extreme Energy has 720 teagues, and 34" props. They stated the top speed was 94. They also stated at 4500 RPM they were running 75MPH, which I figure to be 20% slip. Can anyone tell me if these are true, which I believe they won't be.
I remember Jassby's RadioActive and ThunderDan's both ran between 98-102 MPH with the 675 Eickerts and agressive X dimensions. SO with 720's I would assume the same speeds with a more conservative X dimension. Any help reasoning this out?? Thanks in advance. Darren |
Re: Question?
Well I don't think I can be of any help but I would like to see what you are talking about. Where is it in the mag and how long ago?

Re: Question?
The speed was achieved only after putting the Sportmaster shortees on. Overwise the Dan's and Jeff's boat were 95-96 mph.
Jeff's boat handled the nicest with the 5 bladed Herrings. That was in the upper 90s and rail-like handling. The boat tested by Teague were stock props and gear cases and set up to be as user friendly as possible. To date and a few hundred hours, no failure on the Teaque engines or drives which impresses me most! |
Re: Question?
Sorry dkwestern, it looks like it may have a proud new owner soon!

My 2002 ,37 has had some engine mods to the HP500's, 509ci, @ 590 h.p. with a top end of 90.2 on gps @ 5700 rpm on worked 30 bravo's and a 1 inch drive space. The drive spacer really helped cut down the slip. Pretty good for stock looking power and stock Bravo drives.

Re: Question?
Nice Excursion, 90 is a big #, especially with a reliable package like that!!

Re: Question?
James/Excusrion's boat is sick fast. Realize though that 2002 and earlier boats will run a tad faster with same power as they are a bit lighter. 2003 boats and up have a full cabin liner, whereas the 2002 and earlier boats do not. Rollin' Thunder, another 2001 AT here in VA owned by OutlawMark runs around 85 with stock 500s and an agressive X-dimension with full genset, diesel tank for genset, and AC.

Hey Brain, you havent seen what I have put in the boat lately, lots of add on's, when I ran that speed in the cooler air last weekend, I had a full cabin with all the goodies, A/C, Fridge, Generator(honda),TV,Microwave, Water Tank full,Jump Box, 3/4 Fuel, will be going back out later in the season with nothing but me and lifejacket. Will be trying some labbed 32's and hoping for 92 JUST ONCE!!!!!!!!!! |
