The only 37 you find for that price is the 99 on the OSO classifieds. The guy is freshening up the engines as we speak. It is the first AVH ever built. If you want a non AVH there are a few around as well as mentioned above.

Good luck and stand in line :)

The first.....it shows. I went to look at that boat. Although the new stuff looks great and I want a 37AVH too, seems this one was a test run and they hadn't figured out what they were doing yet. Needs upholstry, interior is really "cheap" looking and the bottom has taken a beating.
Guy told me he was going to re-fresh the motors and the drives were 1.36 ratio.

Re: looking for a 37at

It is a great project boat. A friend originally built and owned the boat. It rode better than any one I have been in, but it did have a slight lean to the right while running. I would buy it for a lot less than he is asking and send it back to Pat. The guy that owns it now is a nice guy.

I wasn't knocking the guy, he was fine. The boat just needs some work. Seems you know more about it than I do (I didn't even take it for a ride), make an offer/go get it! :D

Re: looking for a 37at

I thought about it, but the numbers I am thinking he would not entertain. It needs about 20-30K with of refurbish plus I would install new power. Those 500HP’s have about 1200 hours probably by now. I am looking for a later model 03-06 with Merc Factory Power. I like the 04 that was just listed in the classifieds but I can not live with the custom power. It is nothing but a headache and it kills re-sale value.

I totally agree. The paint on the boat is fine, but it needs alot of overall attention. $20-30K sounds about right to me ($109K after being fixed up is more like it). And I would want the motors as is...reduce the price and let me deal with building them the way I want.

Re: looking for a 37at

Russ and Clark, I think you guys might be talking about different 1999 37s.

Russ looked at the one up here in Maryland.

The one in KY was the one formerly in TX right?

crb76 06-06-2006 01:28 PM

Re: looking for a 37at

Brian...The one in Maryland is the first AVH and it was a Texas boat originally and then Pat told me some guy named "Uncle Bob" or something owned it in FL for a while.

The bottom must be redone---It doesn’t ride level. Pat told me that he could fix it. Might as well blueprint it while you are at it. I think that boat is also built with wood.

NADA 99 Active Thunder 37 w/500HP

Average Retail $90,150

You can add about $1,600 for the Mayfair Steering.

There was another 99 or 00 with 600SC that was the second boat or third i believe. It was also in Houston. I don’t know where that boat is now. Maybe that is the one in KY. The other second or third boat is in Beaumont. It was built to replace the first and had the first set of 500EFI's.

There was a 37' AVH in Texas with staggard Merc 600SC's for sale a few years back. Does anyone know if it is still available or where it's at?

crb76 06-06-2006 09:55 PM

Re: looking for a 37at

I believe that was the second AVH built. I believe it went to the upper east coat after Texas, but I am not for sure, and it has been quite a while since it was here. The guy that originally owned it bought a 37 Outerlimits in 2000. When was it for sale last?

That staggered boat was forsale in Northern Va at one time, a friend of mine was trying to buy it in 02 and could not make a deal on it. It used to be in the local VA boat trader for a while. Had pink and blue graphics if I remember correct.
I had the 32 AT at the time.

Re: looking for a 37at

The 37 with staggered 600SCs sold via auction to someone in or near NY. It was in an accident and sank... bloop bloop bloop.

There was a thread some time back. There was a lot of speculation on all of the details, but it was apparent that alcohol was a significant factor.

http://www.wtnh.com/Global/story.asp...0&nav=3YeXOEU5

From what I understand, the boat was thrashed anyhow. Sat outside for years uncovered, and without a LOT of time, money, and elbowgrease; it was never going to be a nice boat again.

Since were talking about old AT's I saw pics of one with triple i/o's I'm guessing it had to be a 37. Was it a straight bottom?

1998 37 triple engine 500 carbs with prochargers for his house in KW and a 2000 28 Savage with a pair of 377 Scorpions for his house on Winnie.

You just gotta love boaters like that!

Re: looking for a 37at

Alright I guess I'm not crazy!! Pat did you have to move the engine compartment bulkhead forward? Any other major mods? Just curious for whatever reason.

I saw the pic in one of AT's brochures they were sending out a few years back, I think it came from Steve W.

Pat,

What did you tell me had to be done to correct the bottom on the 99 AVH?

How about 2X120 for a new 37 featured at the Miami boat show and at the Key west nationals.
