It sure was a nice day in Fort Lauderdale
1 Attachment(s)
Jay and I took the new 33 out for it's shakedown at 6:30 this morning.
Steve and Mikey were on hand to assist us with a prop-swap and a few minor adjustments at the ramp. Sea conditions, thanks to all of the fishing/cruiser boats, were just enough to let us know it was going to be proving time. At 55 we were eating the water up like chop on a lake. 65 required small throttling. Quick, snappy responses. 75 was airing out nicely with no quircks. That was enough for today. In a bad mix of water it ran straight. It ran in circles. It runs exactly like it's big brother! Which, of course, is exactly like nothing else. We hooked up with Kristen and Steve, stopped at Crown for ice and beer to fill that brand new AT cooler and headed to Jay and Suzanne's house to hit the water. Off to the ocean and Pier 66 for lunch! Between the 2 of us barking orders at this poor guy in his new boat, all turned out well. He's ready for Richmond!!! We're arm wrestling to see who's driving. See you guys there Friday. Save us a spot at the bar and the beers are on us! First picture of the 33 in the water.... |

Re: It sure was a nice day in Fort Lauderdale
I'm sure you pushed the sticks to the top. :p Even though you may need some prop testing and possible spacers, what did it do? Come on, tell us more please.
Do you have any cockpit pictures? Looks great!!!! |

Re: It sure was a nice day in Fort Lauderdale
Since I've become familiar with AT by hanging out with all the Richmmond boys I'm going to make a point to come meet you Pat. My wife and I have already decided we will run our current boat until we can afford a 37.....but maybe a quick tour of the new 33 might make that day come a little sooner!!!

Re: It sure was a nice day in Fort Lauderdale

Re: It sure was a nice day in Fort Lauderdale
Pat, Diane and Jay,
Thanks for a great day in Lauderdale. Weather was perfect to go along with the perfect boat you built for us. Words can't describe the ride and throttle response of this Hot Rod. For those of you in VA, we'll see you Friday. Pictures do not do this paint job justice. You really need to see it with your own eyes. My jaw was dragging on the floor all day Saturday at the shop. Hmmm....3 drivers, 1 new 33 AT Evolution. Good thing Ilike to share. Steve |

Re: It sure was a nice day in Fort Lauderdale
Don't blame you at all for wanting to get the motors broken in first, before pushing it.
What is the meaning behind REMEDY? (it could mean several things). Second request... any cockpit pictures? I am interested to see the room in the cockpit, as it compares to the 37. |
Re: It sure was a nice day in Fort Lauderdale
Some people have discipline, unlike others. :D Merc is OK with running it up for a few seconds, they just say don't leave it wide open. Your engines had an hour of dyno time on them before they left the factory, at least that is what they told me on mine.

Re: It sure was a nice day in Fort Lauderdale
Cool - we are just outside of Center Harbor on Black Cat Isl., I will be up that weekend (as I am with most), have to see if I can find you, would love to see that up close. I know that area well, is it the house with the Fountain at the dock, (across from the church on Bear)?

Pushing the sticks all the way forward for a few seconds is part of breaking the motors in, but obviously not long enough to give top speed runs. |
