I had no idea.... (Chicago Poker Run recap)

Re: I had no idea.... (Chicago Poker Run recap)
Thanks for all the compliments everyone.
There are several boats out there running great speeds with stock power and other boats that are running triple digits without radically huge power. You have the option of building a boat exactly the way you want it; including power. The company is definiately going places. You are going to see a lot of awesome things from AT in the near future; some very soon. Wait until a set of 700SCIs and NXT1 drives gets bolted into a 37AT.
The 37AVH and the 33AVH are truly awesome hulls. Ask Docmanrich37 what a 180* turn feels like with Tres Martin driving. The hull just handles awesome. I was once following Rich through the S-turns at Smith Mountain Lake, and due to idiot boat traffic, I had to carve a hard turn inside of Rich's wake and we literally dipped the rear portion of the rubrail into the water. The boat banked and turned like the highbanks of Talladega Motor Speedway. At one point in Chicago, I had to make an adjustment due to another boater not following the rules of the water, as we are hopping 3-5 foot slop. The boat instantly grabbed and pivoted the 20* turn that I needed like we were on a slot car track with no adverse effect. There is no 2nd or 3rd or Nth step to drift or confuse the hull in this situation The boat just pivots instantly on the one main step and you have now changed your direction. That's it.

Brian very well said. I wish you had jumped in with that in the gen disc form on the BEST 36 TO 39 FT BOAT thread we needed some good thoughts on there. never having a 37 or 33 it wasn't really my place to say much, you did a good job there. the pics of Monsoon flying would also have been good there

Aside from looks, I never saw the attraction of the expensive throttles until that weekend in Chicago. My arm is still sore from back and forth; back and forth... click click click... click click click.
