Thanks for the January Fun Run pics... It's great to actually see what these beauties look like running on the water!

Re: Is this a 28, or bigger?

It's a 28 for sure. I believe that one is powered by a 496.Nice boat. They are big 28's when you see them up close and they have a ton of freeboard.

Re: Is this a 28, or bigger?

That is a really nice 2001 28 owned by boatfreak28 here on OSO. He has a 496HO with CMI headers. That boat ran GREAT on the trip, and he held his own in the ocean. He is the first owner of the boat, and its in really nice shape. He lives outside of Indianapolis, and runs the boat on Lake Michigan, Lake Cumberland, and all over the midwest. (Keep in mind the boat is true 28' of hull, not including the bolted on swim platform.)

Let me know when you want to pull the trigger on the Boat Show Special AT 28 Savage w/ 525EFI/XR.

Re: Is this a 28, or bigger?

Yes, that is a huge 28. The freeboard, among other things, is one of the main reasons the AT tops my list.

If you are thinking 28AT and you are coming from a 22 scarab it will feel like a 35 to you. I loved my 28 and after a long search and I did look at everything. The A.T. is the biggest best handeling single engine boat out there that gives you free board and a large cabin. Try one and you will be sold:D

Re: Is this a 28, or bigger?

I was also lookin for a 28 to start with, went and looked at a 25 and was surprized of the size and freeboard as well. was plenty for me(for now) coming from a my 22' stingray really about 19.5.

Re: Is this a 28, or bigger?

I owned a 25 AT also and had a blast for four years with it. I have also driven a 28 and was equally impressed with the ride quality and overall secure feeling. You can't go wrong with any of Pat's boats no matter what size. Everyone that owns one already knows that. The pics from Key Largo were awesome and I am sure everyone had a blast. I will be joining the ranks again as soon as possible.

Damn...I take some nice pictures....!!!

Mike (the owner) ran right in the middle of the pack the whole time even when we went out into the ocean. I own a 25 AT and was lucky enough to be invited on the Thunder Run by Sydwayz on his 37....drove that boat and Remedy the 1st 33........I now have one problem....which size do I want next!!! They all ride like a much bigger boat and are deep cockpit (safe) boats.

28 just looks bigger-feels and rides like a bigger boat, like the colors on the boat.

Re: Is this a 28, or bigger?

53 hours on a 525 take out, almost new. Want a mint 496HO? Alot of nice engines out there, what is in your boat now?

R Addiction 02-03-2007 11:54 PM

Re: Is this a 28, or bigger?

502 MAG/MPI. With Gil exhaust and K&N filter.

Where did you look for your engine? I'd like to pick up a nice rebuildable engine and go from there. I'm a mechanic with 25 years experience and have built engines for my old drag cars......so I'd like to try one for the AT.

Re: Is this a 28, or bigger?

The 525 came from a private seller in the oso classifieds, the 496HO just seemed expensive to build up w/o the most reliable results. Now if I whipple the 525 that would be even nicer. The 502 is a much better starting point to build up from what I know. The problem is $$$--When did boats get so expensive!

You might want to stay away from the whipple. Just ask docmanrich.

Re: Is this a 28, or bigger?

They got expensive when we go into boating....But its worth it. Are you doing the work or are you having someone else do it? We keep our AT in a HI-DRI facility on the Susquehanna River in Port Deposit, Md. so doing anything extensive is taking time away from the season. Hopefully this winter a garage on my Mother in laws property will be finished to the point of me getting the boat in there for the winter so I can do all the things I've been gathering parts for over the years. Good Luck and keep us posted.

I loved the sound of my 525 but I had mufflers. But it would still bark:D

risky 02-04-2007 09:50 AM

Re: Is this a 28, or bigger?

The 525 should go in within the next two weeks, no mufflers and taking off the silent choice, that's for sale in the oso classifieds also. As for the whipple, that is on the wish list, someone said the imco shorty drive is a good option. As for the expensive part, just like to complain but if it is a good modification to the boat you won't have to twist my arm to go to the bank.

You've got to be kidding me!

Risky, you've got my boat! I came across this boat on another boat trading site and called the broker only to find out I had just missed it. They had it listed at a nice price, too.

They said it was a 2005, is it really?

I copied all the photos they had on their site. Here's are some more shots. I really like the graphics and the colors. Very similiar, if not identical, to the one on AT's website.

Yes it is an 05 I sent you a PM about my deal. Keep looking there is always a deal when it comes to boats. Paint is slightly different than the one on the site, I think the guy at suncoast boats got that one and re-painted it. Suncoast daves 28 was an awsome deal.
