The boat you all are looking at is "Chaos", the first 25' Active Thunder raced in the APBA Factory 1 class. It was owned and raced by Neville Moberly in 1997 through (I think) 1999. He won a lot of races in the APBA Central Division Great Lakes area, (until I came along), and did well on the pro circuit. It originally had a carbed HP500, Stellings box, Marine Machine full hydraulic steering, and other good parts. I think his boat had a full cabin as well. It was an honest upper 70's boat with the stock HP500, but was heavier than mine. I also tried the standoff box, but after a lot of testing, (and launching the bow to the moon), removed the box with almost identical speed and MUCH better handling.
I'm not sure who owns it now, but Neville took good care of his equipment.

Gordo,

Glad to see you're still around.

Those were the days! What a pain you and Neville were..... but we had fun.

Call me when you have time to catch up, Pat

Stinger,
I saw that, was just filling in some history on the boat for those interested or curious.
Pat,
I can't imagine how many times Neville and I had you pulling your hair out, losing sleep, and seeking therapy.
But, one thing was for sure. In those first years of Factory class racing in the APBA Central Division, the Active Thunders OWNED the Great Lakes !!!
I miss those days. I still have some great video of Brad,(Funhome) and I battling it out with Neville and Todd on Lake Erie, while passing some of the Factory 2 boats !!
THAT was fun !
