First off the report said 71 feet, not 70....And that is NOT a 45 degree slope.

A 32 pitch with a forward uphill velocity based on the approximate 34 degree angle of the slope that I can calculate and at a constant 5150 rpms with a 17 percent slip should have put him at 18.655 meters or 61.204068241469386 feet!

Now you can see from the re-creation that the 71 feet is an obvious exaggeration. But it's hard to tell from the report if the measurement is taken from the bow or transom.

Also, if they used that little wheel like at crash sites it IS an uneven terrain so that would bump the number up some as well.

I really hope this clarifies a few issues.

Now wear your darned lanyards, OK?

Boat safe and enjoy the weekend!

Uncle Pat

Its a shame that boat did not have muffler bearings installed. This whole incident could have been avoided.

Ladies and gents we are among greatness. The man is a genius.

Pat I get there about 6 Sun evening just in case you want to have a beer otherwise I will see you Monday morning. You might skip breakfast and keep your noon time open cause I might want to buy a really expensive burger.
