Someone mentioned that this was "old news".....? When did this happen? Glad everyone was ok...... but what a beautiful boat!!! what a shame. |
When did AT start making there boats 4 wheel drive !
|
Its a good thing the boat was a step bottom. If it was a straight bottom, it would have slid back down the mountain. :D
|
Any new reports on how bad the boat got chewed up ?

This is the reason i bought a large single step boat, i would hate to be coming down backwards off a steep incline and hit the lakeshore and flip over backwards, you could hurt yourself. |

I emailed the owner twice after this happened asking if he sold the boat. Now I know why he didn't answer. I didnt see the original post in the general discussion forums right when it happened. I have never been on a boat bigger then my 27' that I can remember. Can someone tell me how you can throw 4 people out of a boat? I'm just curious

We got a call today from DNR and they said everything was in tact but couldn't figure out the prop pitch because they were toasted!
We think they were trying to calculate WOT based on Hp and pitch. All we can say is it was 'haulin' ASSS' to get up that hill. :D |

We already did! :D |
Those props are custom now! Not even Clark can spec a set like that! :D
I can see the thread now: "How do I prop my boat for best cruise and acceleration on slightly hilly terrain?" :drink: |
we already have Inland and Offshore props.....now we have to have Off-road props???? :D
|
Do you think he was just trying to BEACH the boat and came in a little too fast.
|
A new acronym for AT
"All Terrain" :evilb: |
They were stock 30 bravo's guaranteed. I can tell buy the way the boat laid on the side of the hill. If they were 32's the boat would of been 72 foot up the mountain and not 70! :)

First off the report said 71 feet, not 70....And that is NOT a 45 degree slope. A 32 pitch with a forward uphill velocity based on the approximate 34 degree angle of the slope that I can calculate and at a constant 5150 rpms with a 17 percent slip should have put him at 18.655 meters or 61.204068241469386 feet! Now you can see from the re-creation that the 71 feet is an obvious exaggeration. But it's hard to tell from the report if the measurement is taken from the bow or transom. Also, if they used that little wheel like at crash sites it IS an uneven terrain so that would bump the number up some as well. I really hope this clarifies a few issues. Now wear your darned lanyards, OK? Boat safe and enjoy the weekend! Uncle Pat |
Lmao! :d :d

Its a shame that boat did not have muffler bearings installed. This whole incident could have been avoided.

|
Sounds right....I'm wondering just how big & juicy that burger will be??
