Lets have it the last weekend of September. On saturday we can run up past Hopewell to the Shrimpfest on the Appomattox River. The party runs from 2 to 8. They sell 1000 tickets and all the shrimp,fries,beans and slaw you can eat. Plus they have a beer truck that never runs out and always a good band. Can't beat it for $40 a ticket :drink: :D

So how many Merc 525efi's have dropped a valve at 80 hours? Just mine. Had 1 month left on the warranty thanks to Dad, (Pat).

New motor is in. Ran it for the first time last weekend. Thanks to my good friend Pete Nopper at Nopper Marine, the boat looks as if it's never been touched. Superb work Pete!

Can't believe I've gotta break a new motor in all over again at 80 hours. :mad:

I'm leaving home tomorrow with 78.4 hrs. on mine :eek:

Hopefully you don't have a Friday/Monday built motor like mine.

Hmmm, could be.

Was there any sign of a loose rocker or a broken valve spring keeper ? Don't these 525s have stainless valves in them ?
