I figured something like that, nice to know that a V is still doable:cool:

That is why AT is one of the only true custom boats. Pick the step you want or none at all! It is quite impressive and an excellent way to do it because you can make adjustment based on what you want for results. :D

WOW, that is very custom....I would say less than a handful of builders will actually do that for the customer.
Also very interesting to see how the different size steps will perform w/different power.

That sir is why you make the big bucks. I will stick to caring for my cows and leave the boat building to you.:D

by the way, just to fuel an old fire, if its that easy to add a step then it wouldn't be hard for Harry to do a little figuring and throw a plug in the bottom of the 28 mold.;)

From what Pat has told me. The 28 would have to be totally redesigned. The AVH/DDC hull is based off of length, width and I believe weight (he needs to chime in to give you accurate clarity). Pat told me that the current 28 is not wide enough to just build a plug. He would have to invest in building and whole new hull and deck. Given the market conditions for sub 200K high performance boats, the margins in selling them, that is not a good investment anymore.

From what I understand them same issue came up with the 32. That is why you have a 33 AVH vs. a 32 AVH.

I think Pat has said that the height at the back of a 28 with a step would be to shallow and create problems.

The 28AT beam is the same as the 37; both are 8'-4", are they not.
Also, well Pat may have said that the 28 transom is not tall enough, others have done it fairly successfully with a lot less height; but that is all matter of opinion.
And of course, this is just mine! Haaa
