As Cosmic12 stated above...the original 28's were pulled from the Active Fish Mold. The newer (I believe 2004 on) were pulled from the 32 mold. The 28's Topdeck mold was built in 1998. Both are great running boats. I believe Spillmans 28 with twin 350 magnums was the first 28 delivered. (Used to have a deranged "Bam Bam" decal on the deck. I had the pleasure of working there while the topdeck molds were being built....long, tedious process. Nexttime someone complains about the $$$$ of a new boat, invite them over to watch molds/plugs being built!!! The 28's from the Active Fish Mold had more rocker, you had to run the tabs a bit but the sharp entry would crush rough water...the 28's from the 32 molds had a longer straight on the bottom. The first 28's cabin was stickbuilt...later came a cabin liner mold. You can't go wrong with a 28, no matter what year! Nothing else compares in size, cockpit depth, cabin size/height or rough water handling! They're great boats!!!!!

He's just jealous because he can't put a "Y" at the end of his name without it sounding goofy. :evilb:

Jupiter, that is cool that you were part of the build process of New Moon; formerly ?Bam-Bam? It is true though, the previous owner(#2) took off the bloody head of Pebbles & Bam-Bam holding the spiked ball & chain stickers. The boat does require some tab at speed; 3-1/2 on the indicators wot and trim up to 5 is about perfect. Also, how many 28's have the notched transom? I can't recall seeing another 28 w/a notch.
And some more pics for the Northern rs!
