If I remember correctly the twin small block Scorpions went into the purple "Barny Boat" 28!! Went to the guy who owned the one and only tripple engine 36/37 (lake Winni..??in the N.E). Wow, Pats pulling out some historic photos!!! I still have pics of the Tripple 36, The first 37 Step, I may even have the Staggered 600 boat.....

Your going to open a can of words with this one.

so there were 3 twin engine 28's built? SL told me there was a twin 28 up in NH...w/100+more hp I'm guessing that the twin 377's ran upper 70's? Pat or J Pulsare, you recall?

I think all of the 28s had a notched transom until the hull change. I know my 01 had a notch.

Jafo posted on here a while back that his old 28 did not have a notch; not sure but I thought it was a 1999 model. Probably a removable portion of the mold?

I was thinking more of a 300X! But a 400hp small block would be sweet too.

Yes, some were built with the notch using an insert into the mold...

Spillman, I never got to run the Scorpion boat...boat I did have some fun in yours when John G. owned it!! Your boat always looked bad ass idling up the intercoastal..people would stare! It was an attention getter everywhere it went! There was a lot of debate back then..single HP 500 vs twin small blocks in the 28. I liked the idea of twins plus it definitly looked (and sounded) better squatting in the water! Pat probably remembers what the Scorpion boat ran. There was also a 28 with a 502 that was Pro-Charged on the west coast of Florida...I believe that boat was the first 28 with a Cabin Liner.
