33' AT Questions.
I've been shopping for a 35' boat over the last couple of months and many here on OSO have said look at the 33' AT. I have a few questions, and thought I would start here.
How fast is the 33 with 525's? Is the cabin really as roomy as they look on the brochure (anybody have measurements?) The cockpit looks like it's also roomy (can you ride 5 or 6 comfortably?) Is the fit and finish what others say it is on an AT. What other brands would you compare the AT to? Anybody have pics they can share? Unfortunately, there are no AT dealers in my area, so I'm trying to gather as much information as I can to determine if I want to buy a plane ticket and fly to a dealer. Thanks ahead of time! |
Check your PM;s...we spoke a while back.

Tom,
Good to see you back again. The 33 and 37 have the EXACT same cockpit measurements. The cabin is a tad shorter, as is the engine room. Basically, the 33 is a 9/10s scale of the 37. I have been out with as many as 9 people in the cockpit of a 37. That should answer your question if 5-6 are comfortable. The 6th drop in bolster is the ticket for long (poker) runs. There are a couple of 33s already out there. Do a search on "slboatdrinks" (Steve) here on OSO, and his pics; as well as pics by "OCDACTIVE". Steve owns the first 33AT and is very accessible here. 525s gives you 92mph reliably with 5 years of worry free boating powertrain warranty. I'll leave it to others to comment on the fit and finish and comparisons. Measurements: 50" of freeboard at front of cockpit 48" of freeboard at front bolster 49" bolster height 42" of freeboard at rear seat Cockpit width is 72" Cockpit length is 81" from cabin door to front of backseat 31" between back of front bolsters and front of backseat. (Bolster placement can be adjusted) 62" wide backseat 13" between the pullies and front engine room bulkhead (lots of room for maintenance) 3" between headers Underbackseat storage is 90" wide by 21" long The cabin door is 22" x 44" The headroom in the deepest portion of the head is 67" The entry door into the head is 45" x 22" wide, and is about 10" from the floor. There are 11 defined storage compartments in a standard cabin, but that can be adjusted. The V-berth is 74" long and 69" wide at its widest point. Mean width is 40". The port couch is 90" long, which can also be adjusted. The starboard couch is 70" long. When you enter the cabin, you have just shy of 66" of headroom. When you are laying on the couches, you have 38" of headroom. When you are laying in the V-berth, you have 30" of headroom. What else do you want to know? I can measure the circumference of the head seat too if you want. :D |
How fast is the 33 with 525's? 92+
Is the cabin really as roomy as they look on the brochure (anybody have measurements?) yes, it will be the most roomy in your foot range The cockpit looks like it's also roomy (can you ride 5 or 6 comfortably?) 6 with third bolster. 7 if you have 4 girls in the back. Is the fit and finish what others say it is on an AT. Yes, fit and finish is one of the top 5 in the deep V category. Its top tier compared to the large production manufactures like Donzi, Fountain, Baja. Remember the AT is 100% custom. It will be as nice as your wallet will let it be. What other brands would you compare the AT to? Nothing... Amenities like a Nortech or Sonic, rough water capability is best in class foot for foot, similar to the rough water ride of a Cigarette or Apache with regard to stability but different because the boat will not launch given the design of the AVH bottom, Cockpit depth better than Cig, not as deep as a 39 Nortech. Anybody have pics they can share? Steve or Pat may have some. I can safely say it is the best sub 37 foot boat on the market. There is not a lot of compition anymore sub 37 in the V catagory. |
Lots of pics here:

OCDACTVE,
Thanks for your input. If the main difference is the engine compartment between the 33 and 37, does that mean the sunpad is fairly small on the 33? If your pics are on OSO anywhere, I think I've seen them. Thanks for offering them up though. |

Here is an overhead shot of a 37 vs. 33.
Notice the headrests on the 33 are long and swept, compared to the headrests on (ACTIVESHACK's) 37. We can set it up anyway you like. That's why AT is a custom builder. :D |
I live in Smyrna, TN outside of Nashville and have a 2002 37' AT. PM me your phone number if you would like to come up and look at the cockpit and the cabin. It would be a short trip for you and you could get an idea of the layout. You will not be disappointed with the AT. I looked at other brands for awhile before I bought mine. Plus the CULT is a great group of people!

Well, I'd chime in, but you boys seemed to have summed it up for him pretty well. :D
