I think he is referring to the vinyl. Exactly why I chose regular vinyl for my cockpit. I did go with carbon fiber accents on the sides of the head rests, which turned out great. But regular vinyl is SO much easier to keep clean.

I just got the message. Silver carbon fiber is JUNK. None of the other colors fade only the silver. I'm replacing it at MY expense with regular vinyl. The upholstry guy is doing it for half price but thats no deal. Nobody takes better care of there boat than I do and I got rained on one time and thats what happened. Be glad you went with vinyl.

Mark, did this happen over the winter? Did you hang Damp Rid bags in your boat? (Knowing you, I'm sure you did.) Before I put my winter cover on, I hung one over the Vbunk and one on the cabin door left open. They worked beautifully. When I went down a couple weekends ago to check on things they were both near full of water. And the cabin and cockpit was bone dry and had that Damp Rid clean smell.

That just plain sucks Mark.

I was very skeptical myself on the carbon fiber stuff when I was building.

Glad I also went with vinyl.

When I put the boat on the trailer at the end of the season it rained when I got home from the ramp. I had to cover the boat when it was wet and I got under the cover and dryed everything off. The next morning I took the cover off and it had faded.
