Pat,Got spare props from greg with the boat.so i dont know who did the work.Been working with brett at bblades.Pat what prop and size should i try.boat needs bow lift.I would think the 5 blade would give it to much stern lift ? Pat know damage in front of step all just scratchs and nicks.Gets on plain ok slips just little at 2000 rpm.Pat also sending ck out on seat couple days.Thanks..

I'm going to ask the stupid question now instead of later.

Are you rotating the props in or out?

Right answer. If you can get your hands on some good 'ol 32 Bravos that nobody has messed with I think that would really be a great starting point. Get those numbers first and then make the next move.

The 5 blades will help with the bow lift. I have the diffuser rings cut off of mine which helps lower the stern inturn lifting the bow. Brett at BBlades did mine and has it on file what he did too them. The only time mine would hop was in the glass slick water I encounter often where I live. Any chop at all or after I got 20 miles down river where it starts to get salty it went away. Never had a problem in Florida because of the buoyancy from the salt and it's always rough as hell.

I agree. Run a set of those where you typically boat at and go from there. My opinion is if you do the majority of your boating in freshwater the maximus are the ideal all around prop.

I have enjoyed reading this thread. I have never had the porpoise problem. My 37' came with a set of Bravo 30's that James had put on it. They were worked a little but they ran really good. I have since put on a set of Hydromotive 30 P5X on it. These really brought the boat alive. They have a slightly smaller diameter than the Maximus. The boat gets on plain faster, picked up 7 mph in all the rpm ranges, and still has a good top end. Took my prop slip from the mid 20's to 17%. I am very pleased and has really increased my fuel econamy (we mainly run betwene 3500 and 4000 rpm). Looking forward to seeing some of the Cult at Lake Cumberland!

Hi Pat.
I know you know my boat very well. You made it with a very high "X" dimension. With the prop slip being so high, I was going to try some drive spacers but a friend had this set from his old 42 Fountian. They have a 15" diameter witch is smaller than the Maximus. The diffuser is also a little different. I was concerned about the torque they would put on the drives since they are stock Bravo's with 1.5 gears. I ended up buying them because I have been so happy with the performance. They carry the bow very well and at all conditions. I mainly boat on the local lakes in Tennessee and Kentucky. I have been checking the drives and everything has been fine up to this point. I'm going to do a tear down this winter anyways (I'm anal about my stuff). I am still able to spin the 500HP's (modified by James) to 5400 w/ the temp outside at 95. I love the AT. Glad I met James and Reba (GREAT PEOPLE) and was able to buy the boat. Would like to talk to you some time.
