<sniff sniff> But, But, the 25???
The 25 Thunder was never intended to chase fish.
The 25 Active Thunder was a Legend!
It was a Velocity-spanker !!!
A Fountain killer!!!
A Checkmate-smacker!
A Formula-whupper!

(Whupper? forget it. He's on a roll...)

Mike, sorry buddy. The molds were pretty tired.

Kinda like a race horse being retired to a carnival giving pony-rides, isn't it?

What exactly does it mean when you say the mold got "tired?" Do molds lose their shape/rigidity over time?

They get worn out. You can only pull so many hulls from one mold.

The tooling gel goes to **** over the course of time. Those molds were made in 1990.

Another reason to keep my "collectors item". Not another 25ft boat I'd rather be on.

..............YEAH, but..............new molds could be pulled from an existing hull to keep such a loved little offshore performer alive....with the state of the economy, wouldn't building more affordable single engine boats be a viable option??? They could even run with brackets and egg beaters. I'm sure there are alot of people out there that would love to own a 33 or 37 but just can't afford one (or the gas for that matter). But then again, Pat, what do I know??? I'm still in this stinking car business!!!!

R Addiction 10-04-2008 06:47 PM

Well said Steve. I'd love to be able to go out and buy a new 28 or a 32 straight "V". Not that I don't love the 33's and 37's its just not in the $$ cards for me right now.:p
