It's legit. I've seen the boat and Paul is a stand up guy. The raffel has been delayed because not enough tickets have been sold to date.

Any updates on the raffle

Overactive507 01-11-2009 05:05 AM

If you read this thred or any other thred about this raffel you will see that nobodys moneys are held only checks wich are not even going to be cashed untill it hits 325 sold. Also a portion of the profits are going to LDA (learning disabialtys america). The reason the gates keep changing is because of low ticket sales. This dose not seem fishy at all because nothing has been gained by TSPM

Couple of little things.
Yes and first of all, TSPM is a respected person.
Yes, he stands to gain unless 100% goes to the charity.
Many of those checks will be stale-dated if he doesn't cash them soon... so they may not be honored.
And... in most states it is illegal to move the drawing date after it has been publicized. We moved a drawing date once for one of my raffles and we had to send out 6500 letters to ticket holders making them aware of the change.

I don't think he is dishonest. I just don't think that he has a lot of experience with raffles and has had a learning curve on this.

ActiveThunder 01-11-2009 08:01 AM

I was kinda wondering about that changing of the dates like that....

TSPM 01-17-2009 12:19 PM

We checked with the charity and state and you can move the date because of the charity linking. Also most checks are good for that period according to Citi Bank.
