looks very similar to my 97, cept for cockpit. maybe the same mold? not sure someone will chime in. Sounds like a nice price if it floats and is solid.

Griff 03-23-2009 01:20 AM

It was posted somewhere else that the actual asking price is 18k or so. There was a thread somewhere else.

The build quaility of AT's went up steadily after Pat bought the company around 1995.

cosmic12 03-23-2009 06:15 AM

I was at the old factory and picked up the last boat built there by Pat in 96 and it was a 25. That boat could be a great deal for someone if it makes it through a survey. If I was in the market I woudn't hesitate on it because it was pre- Pat and I think he would agree, remember he can fix anything that could be wrong with it. These are not getting any eaiser to find and if it could be bought for 18k or under it gives alot of wiggle room for up grades. Think back to how or why Pat bought the tooling to start with, he bought a 32 from the guy and fell in love and the rest is history. I say get a survey and go from there.

Who's boat is that?

ActiveThunder 03-23-2009 06:45 PM

I would not discount this boat as a purchase regardless of age or who built it.

The $17K asking price is with a relatively low time Merc 525SC(which has to be one kickass ride) along with a novice 454.
Wild or subdued..kool!!
or if gas goes out of sight again then you have the baby engine.

Seems like it is going to take one HELL of an AT to wake somebody up:party-smiley-004:

If I had the coin, I'd pick up the old 25.

It's an awesome project boat.

What is the project behind it? It says 12g's how come it is 17g's? Did anyone call on it?

Project as in updating it.

Then again, you could leave it as is, but if it were mine, I'd redo the cockpit to start with.

Must have some other issues as well.....it's 19/20 years old.

jfm 03-26-2009 08:18 PM

Got ya.. Just wondering if anyone called on it since it seems that the price thing is all f...ed up.

From SO:

if someone is interested in it it has an old 525sc in it that was rebuilt and hes asking 18k. not what the ad said. so oh well.

thanks again for the replies.

I talked to him yesterday..that why i posted what I did..he really doesn't want to remove the SC and put the 454 back in..but that would be the 12k price..he'd rather 17k(he told me that figure) and throw the 454 in with the deal.

Hey chuck, if your interested you need to go look at it. I think it sounds like you can end up with the whole package for 12K that's a steal unless it's broke in half !! Go see it 12k is not a lot of money leaves you lots of room to play. Plus that 525sc is a good candidate for 650hp when your ready for it. These boats will handle 700hp no problem. Have a survey done on it, that will help ease your mind...

I've been looking for a boat this size for a couple months now. This is a little older than I was looking to go. I've been reading about the AT's and they seem like great boats. Does anyone have anymore thoughts on this one. Also, this would be my first boat, are they pretty user friendly?

If I had the coin I would be all over it, and yes they are extremly user friendly there realy isn't a better 25 out there and for this money you can't go wrong unless its got a big hole in it somewhere. I wish someone would look at it and tell us what is what. If I had the time I would but I have to be in Maryland tues afternoon for about 3 weeks.

User friendly...Hell yea!! My daughter has been driving ours for about 3 years and handles it quite nice. The wife drives it like she stole it:cool:

Let me help you guys out, I heard there was some chatter about this boat over here, it happens to be a friend of mines boat, he is offering it both ways, but would rather not have to tear it apart, this boat really runs he is my mechanic, and a damn good one!! YES the int could be updated then again its not all torn up either, it handles the rough like no other 25 and really scoots with the 525, I may have a better pic on my pc somewheres if someone is seriously interested
