Questions about Tantrum

Ok here are some things I haven`t been able to figure out..

The toggle switch underneath this "cover" what is its purpose? I guess when I know that I`ll know what position it should be in or if it even makes any difference

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/IMG00083.jpg

Secondly,

What used to be here?? A light? The hole in the middle is siliconed shut.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/IMG00085.jpg

And I think theres black helicopters following me cause I found this hidden away under the seat.. :angry-smiley-038: black box with antenna, made by Guest Co. model 293 C . Googles turned up

nothing.

HMMMM >>

ICDEDPPL 09-16-2009 03:17 PM

Actually now that i think about it, the black box and 4 holes may be connected.. possibly a remote control light.. seems like that`s what Guests makes.

I may have solved my own mystery:coolcowboy:

ActiveThunder 09-16-2009 03:33 PM

You're scaring me with that toggle switch question.....Try running with it down and see if it makes any difference.

ICDEDPPL 09-16-2009 03:57 PM

I`m sorry.. so its a stupid question I take it? I feel dumb. It`s my first boat and it didn`t come with a manual.. it was down, I flipped it up.. made no diff.

Safety shut off?

I`m a car nut boats are new to me.

thanx

You would have gotten a better answer if you would have had a little background scenery like you used to post!

But, yes, kill switch. Now you might want to take a look at it and see why it doesn't 'kill'.

So does this mean no lanyard either?

Gladhe8er 09-16-2009 04:18 PM

ICED, my kill switch didn't work either when I bought my boat. It was a simple fix. I think a wire was loose.

ActiveThunder 09-16-2009 04:19 PM

those screw holes on the deck are an after-thought and probably related to your little black box. However I just can't imagine a remote spot light mounted there....yuk.

Agreed, can we see your avatar with dual lanyards ?

ActiveThunder 09-16-2009 04:37 PM

Actually a single lanyard hanging around one's neck might work as well! The possibilities are endless.

Thank you for your answer without making me feel like a dope:drink:
Since the kill switch didn`t work I was confused as to the switches function.

I think I`ll save my dumb lanyard question for another site.. ha

The full avatar pics is floating around here somewhere..

NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ICDEDPPL 09-16-2009 05:06 PM

Active Thunder:

The stitching of the "active thunder/boats" on the seats is getting faded. what can be done? Is that something you guys would do?
I wanted to have it redone over winter, just not sure where to go locally or you guys.

SHORTFUSE 09-16-2009 05:23 PM

Rhe holes on the top of the deck is from the original cleats. The boat came with two fix mounted cleats side by side. Obviously they were changed out for one pop-up cleat.

I want to hang where you hang!!! Love the pics!

My Addiction 09-16-2009 05:27 PM

Active perverts:evilb:
The lanyard goes around your wrist and hooks to that switch when in the up position. Just in case thats not clear.
:hitit:nobody put this up

I was going with two lanyards like the propeller type tassels. Sorry could not resist but what a sight that would be. LOL Love that pic by the way, great job.

R Addiction 09-22-2009 09:38 AM

The holes in the deck are most probably from a spotlight like Pat said (since there is a fifth hole where the wires may have went thru. Definately not cleats (only 4 holes and my double cleats take 8 holes).

Good question, I think the problem is that the tread that is used doesn't have uv protection. Is there such a thing as uv protected thread? Doug

All that "BLING" and no pop up cleats:eek: Still a very nice Tantrum

I dont think any of those girls are his avitar. (.)(.) not big enough

R Addiction 09-22-2009 09:01 PM

Not a fan of pop up cleats. Although it would be nice to not accidentally whack your feet on them. Thanks, I do love this boat.

Get a fabric marker or 2 from a sewing store and go over the faded threads with it. It won't bleed like even a permanent marker will.

What trouble I have one that doesn't pop up everytime, but its not that much trouble. If I forget to push one down, especially the bow, I will stop the boat and go push it down, thats OCD.
No bow light, no cleats visable, sleak, I LOVE IT:evilb:

Just a personal preferance thats all.. I think the push downs definately look better.

P.S.... you never want to start comparing compulsive tendancies...:drink::eek: Trust me..! Only one who is even in the same ballpark is R! :drink:

There are different brands and styles of pop ups that don't have a constricting orifice to push the lines through.
