My friend has an active thunder running over 100 mph. What an incredible ride. The throttle and GPS feel connected. He runs 45 mph at 2000 rpm and 105 at only 5000 rpm and gets there in a heatbeat with twin 850 blower engines and on Bravos with Imco lowers. I feel there is a lot more in the boat but he does not want to push the drives or the hull capabilites at high speed.

When mine was originally built, it had +/-750hp blower engines. Member Drag n Ass had it built. He said it ran 103mph. Mine had/has nose cones and also ext boxes. Mine also weighs about 500# more than Audacity. You will need nosecones above 90mph to see mph gains in line with the hp increase. I'm guessing 700hp and completely dialed in would get you there. You would probably have to switch to a 1.36 drive ratio or you'll most likely run out of prop.

Building my 500hps to 540 ci and adding some good headers, as well as changing the lowers and upgrading the uppers to xrs. not sure what lowers to get yet. my head work was done last year and cams are crane 741 the boat had 90 in it this summer if i would of got it proped right, i would hit 86, 87 on gps at 5500 and in the limiters. i have stock gill exhaust only 1 year old manifolds and the tall anti reversion tails.

Rick

ps will also consider selling my b1 drives as well 1 was redone 2 years ago and the other this summer.

What are you going to do to yours.

Building custom whippled 509's 750 Hp range, selling off the XR's and either Billet marine Xr's with Billet IMCO lowers or if we can get a good deal on ASD-7's then go that route. Will leave the drive decision for the end to see what the best option will be, looking to see 100+ as well for those fun flat water days. Arneson had told me that the A/T step hull was designed to run with ASD's so would love to get some feedback on that option as well, would be one hell of a setup.
