Looking for info on upgrading the sound system. I want to keep the head unit just wanting to replace the 4 factory speakers with JL Audio and adding 1 10" JL sub along with JL's New marine amp MHD 900/5.
Has any one did this or a simular upgrade? if so do you have any pics or maybe better suggestions? Also what size are the factory speakers 6".5"? as I would like to upgrade to the 7".7" is this possible?
The reason I am asking some of these questions is because I do not have the boat as of yet. I am trying to get things ready for when I pick up the boat. Thanks for any info.

You ought to be able to put the upsized speakers in there, but I would not purchase anything until you survey your surrounding areas first. Anyone could have made mods that none of us are aware of. Cosmic is probably your best resource for specifics on that boat.

First and formost......CONGRATS!!!!!!!
You got your self a great boat.
I made no mods to anything on it at all but have no idea if any were done afterwards. The stereo that Pat put in it was just fine for me sounded quite good really for a stock set up.
Like OC said you might want to wait untill you have it and take a close look at everything before you start spending.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it I really don't know but from experince I learned nothing is perfect in your eyes as done by someone else, just say'n wait till you get it home and get to know it.
Be sure to post up some pics ASAP I haven't seen it in a long time. You are going to love it !!!!!!

I am doing a complette JL install on my new 37. If you can wait a month or so i will have some good pics of the install. I am putting 4 JL 10s and 6 component 7.7s in. Its going to have 4 of the new digital amps. I am flying a buddy of mine down to Pats to do the install. It is going to be a awesome install..

My stock stereo sounds pretty good(six 6.5" speakers I believe), but I have wondered about upgrading. I wouldn't know where to put a 10-12" sub. The only place I can think of is in the V-berth anchor locker with the sub facing the stern, but then I lose my storage, which I definitely need.

I would not waist the money on the JL MX 650s. I smoked mine in less then a week. Replaced with the M770s. Sounds awesome.
Rebuilding mine right now.
2 12w7
18 M770s
4 Alpine PDX 4.150
2 JL 1000/1 v2s
Should be pretty rockin.
