Swim Platform

Which holds up better on the swim platform, Paint or Powder Coat ? Pro's and cons on both ?

Paint.

Paint has a chemical bond where powder is thermal.
Paint is repairable with easy match of color.

We use self etching primer and base coat/clear coat

Powder PITA

Paint-paint-paint

Double the work but we PC with a close base color and then paint. The corrosion resistance and adhesion sucks with paint.

They both have there benefits. Mine is powdercoated. I did repair a decent docking f'up with several coats of paint on the area and it is holding up fine. That being said, once it starts chipping and bubbling, there is no fixing powdercoating. Mine is 3 years old and is starting to get some cracking on the center brace. It will probably need to be redone in a year or two.

Are you in salt or fresh water?

Fresh water, sand blasted the whole thing and then self etching primer and repainting, looking good.

Your boat looked great last year, this season sounds like I may not recognize it. Keep up the good work and updates!

Thank you, hoping to keep up the appearance and performance that A/T represents here in the great lakes, and of course have allot of fun doing it, hope to see you at the bay this year.

I second that Laz, definitely looked sharp last year!
