Silent Choice Problem

The fuse for the silent choice on my 98 AT tantrum pops everytime you put a new on in. Had the marina look at it. The cylinoids (or actuators, whatever you call them) are fine. The harness for the actuators has a short in it. Apparently the harness is no longer being made. To fix the problem I would have to purchase a new harness and two new actuators. Does anyone know where I can get an old harness like this for a 98 Tantrum. It has the 502.

Just make your own harness. I got the connectors and pins from mouser.com for a few bucks, and just made a new harness with marine primary wire. It's quite simple. I had to buy a special crimper for about $70 on ebay, but it can be used for Delphi (Merc) connectors as well. PM me for the part numbers if you want them.

Yeah, if I remember right, they went from a two wire setup to a three wire setup, or vice versa. Your best bet would be finding a used one from someone, but I haven't seen/heard of one for years.
Or just splice in a new one. Make sure you use correct gauge marine rated wire, marine terminals, with shrink ON them, and then shrink wrap the whole connection again.
