Default Hot Rod 28 Savage

I thought I should start a thread about this because it sounds like it will be a work in progress.
This is my old 28 just getting better or should I say Faster.
Phil sent me these pics today to post for him and hopefuly he will fill in the blanks for any questions that may come up.
He says he can't see or post pics even though he is a regestered paying member, could be his puter I don't know. Brian if you read this I told him to PM you about that.
For those who don't remember it ( Cosmic Debres) here is a shot of it now with I asume his kids.

OK, now the bis end, looks to me like a water pressure out let and a new pick up have been added.
Anybody try a 6 blade yet?

Looks like he changed the mufflers to Gibsons,
And this is what he's gotten out of it so far but says he is still 1400 RPM's short of the limiter.
Anybody got any ideas for him to get over that 90 mark?

Running 80 with 1400 RPM's left? 90 should not be a problem. I hope that drive holds up! What's the HP? I'm guessing around 800.

Ya, I'm think'n 90ish, says it dynoed out at over 900, but thats on land in a controlled climate. The drive should be ok if he can keep it in the water and NO hole shots.
I'd hate to have the bill for that prop to find it didn't do the job

Looks nice, That prop has to be a loaner from hering to see what works. What happenend to the 525? The e-tops tell me those aren't 525 heads. Doug

i would say a 4 or 5 blade smaller prop to start with .
that six blade is for surface runing and with a deep v single i don t think that will work to good " but im not sure " i would still say a smaller prop is going to let you spin more rpms . i would also say try and get 1000rpms more and leave 400rpms for safty if he get's some air with that power drive combo

He will need an very very high prop shaft depth to run the 6.
I run a 5 blade 28 P stock Max and the shaft 1 1/2 inches below the boat.
With 900 horse he should easily see 90.
