upside down and sank...all you could see was the bow, however, being so close to port, it couldn't have been submerged for long...i'd say 2 hours max....an hour to fetch and an hour to tow and haul?...as for the interior, i think it spent a bit of time uncovered last year..

My 05 has zero wood. I would assume a 99 is the same, but not positive.

Guess that would depend on the company you have on board. :lolhit:

kreed 10-15-2010 08:02 AM

I had wood when I first saw it.....then looked deeper,...wood was gone.:picard1:

crb76 10-15-2010 08:37 AM

I would tear it completly down and have Pat completely redo with New Motors. Would be fun!

30ctsutphen 10-15-2010 09:27 AM

You gotta consider this a bare hull when you buy it and figure the power as cores IMO .

You just dont know what you have there, when our 30 sutphen went under and was taken back to the marina it wasnt pickled well and then they neglected to winterize it properly. Took the boat from a buy back to a let it go!

If you KNEW how it was taken care of after the damage Id say it would be more desireable plus the NO back seat issue SUCKS.

SS930 10-15-2010 12:57 PM

I just looked at the boat. It looks decent from a distance, but oh baby does it need work... pretty much EVERYWHERE! You name it, it pretty much needs replacing, or rebuilding at the least. This is a project and I can promise you pictures do zero justice as to how bad things are. The head is gone, a lot of panels are gone or broken, every wire and everything electrical has to be ripped out, the boat has two different drives on it (and of course one is an older bravo 1), busted hatches, cabin filled with water and mildew, a deep gouge in the hull, the trailer needs rebuilding, and this is just the surface. As you get in behind things, you can realy see how bad things are. It's safe to say the owner never took care of anything, so you know nothing was ever flushed. God only knows what's up with the engines and the headers will soon need replacing.

The owner is asking 50's, but doing some talking it looks like he'll take low 40's. Let's just say it wont be selling anytime soon at that price, at least not to anyone that actually steps foot on the boat!

With that said, I did make an offer so we'll see what happens...

BTW, the cockpit is so tight in back there that you can barely even squeeze through, it's REALLY TIGHT! I see why that was a one off!

Gladhe8er 10-15-2010 01:50 PM

Oh man, hope you know how to re-rig a boat if your offer is accepted!

Sure do. It's not a total rerig though, but everything electrial and electronic looks like it needs to be gutted and redone, amongst many other things.

I'm very hopeful that we can put together this deal as the more I think about it, the more I want the boat...

kreed 10-16-2010 03:45 PM

Scot , I feel your pain, I didnt sleep for a night when I was tossing it around. I mean, it has all the right ingredients for a sick boat that you could be happy with for a long time. Not a boat you build and sell, this boat get built to keep, 100 MPH with no problem.

Honestly that's part of it... it would be very hard to even find a buyer! Given the history, the resale value of it will always be less, no mater how perfect it's restored. So at the end of the day you'll have to pump a significant amount of time and money into it, and it will still never be worth normal market value because of the history... and on top of that, the fact that there's no back seat really narrows the potential buyers even further! :(

Griff 10-17-2010 12:49 AM

By the time anyone is done making that boat nice, they could have just bought a nice turn key 37 AVH without a bad history. A complete 37 AVH sold for around 80k not long ago and another that just fell off the classifieds was listed at 99k.

kreed 10-19-2010 09:38 AM

There a a couple bids on this boat, we'll see what happens!

4195 10-19-2010 02:29 PM

So who's buying this boat anyways? First I heard Scot and then somebody said 302sport is interested, be carefull you guys don't drive up the price. This boat is probably not worth more then $25k. IMO If you are going to spend any more go see Kreed and bring your check book and buy a boat that is clean and done!:cool-smiley-011:

SS930 10-19-2010 08:28 PM

Adam and I have been talking... trying not to drive it up. But I think you're right Kevin.

Not sure it matters, I talked with the owner tonight. Really cool guy, but he's firmly planted at $45k min. Anything less and he and his wife would "rather watch it rot".

We're talking again soon, but I think this thing is going to sit filled with water and open to the elements for a very, very long time... Even more sadly, he doesn't seem like the type that really cares if it does either. :(

They are going to be sitting there watching a while....it's a Mantex boat! :drink:

kreed 10-20-2010 07:15 AM

Hey, for 45K, you get a Cigarette, Air Dock, and a trailer....All done! The AT is ONLY 15 MPH faster(hahaha), and 6 feet bigger, and needs 30K to make nice again. But, whos counting? Ya know what, Im keepin the Bullet, It seems that I wouldnt be able to replace it for 45K..........

The funny thing is, talking with him you'd never know we were even remotely talking about the same boat (re: price, condition, work needed, etc). I was more interested in the boat he was describing. :D Then again, he doesn't have the boated listed for sale or even certain he wants to sell it.

With that said, I really did like the guy, we shot the **** for quite a while. We're talking again later in the week. Cool guy, just not sure he has a firm grasp on the condition and value of the boat! Hell, he didn't even know one of the hatches is busted and the boat is wide open and has standing water in the cabin.

Unless you were moving to a much nicer AT you are smart keeping your bullet! That's a really nice one! Hopefully I will get to hang out on the island with you again next year! :drink:

kreed 10-20-2010 08:37 AM

Thanks Taylor, Remedy speaks for itself too. Sick boat. Have good luck with it all summer? Lookin forward to seeing you guys again next summer! :ernaehrung004:

HIgh density urethane laced with woven roven in the stringers, transom, etc.

He won't see it rot anytime soon!

JUPITER PULSARE 10-26-2010 04:40 PM

That was the 2nd AVH hull built and was definitly a
Bad Azz boat and head turner when new. (Gerald would have a stroke if he saw the condition of his old boat now!). Paint was done by David Hunter. If the motors are fresh there's alot of boat there for $45K. It seems like most of the damage is cosmetic and easily fixed with some time and patience. Short of the triple engine 36, this boat is the only other Active Thunder 36/37 that is not a side by side. Somebody will wind up with a rare boat! Good luck to whoever buys it!
