So AT, what is the exact history on this one??? I vaguely recall hearing about the accident. What happened? Why was this a one and only setup, related???

At the time rumor was the water way was littered with empties...

Yea, these 575 hp 454s in the Bullet hull are too. Almost 6k in fuel this summer. AT hull has to be more efficient than the Bullet.

Honestly, I think that's the case for most of us when we're on the water for the day, but seldom does this happen. Just wondering if there was a fundamental setup or design issue involved or not. Spins seem to happen a little more frequently with certain designs more so than others... stepped hulls, poor weight distribution, etc. Just wondering if this boat was a learning exercise, hence only one made...

The staggered handles the same as the SBS. The reason I don't push it is I saw no speed or handling advantage. Also the back seat was non-existant.

The story was they were running hard parellel to the shore and did an 'exit, stage right' at WOT. The rest is history.

Gotcha. Wasn't insinuating anything, just curious... Generally speaking the staggered boats tend to be a little better balanced and handle a little better. I've always though the differences are pretty minute and probably not worth the trade-off on already tight pleasure boats. On a race boat, I'm sure it's worth it. Not to mention they are soooo much easier to work on.
