Seems like a good price.
|
i think that boat was a triple when it began life. could be wrong though.
|
Really didnt know that made a trips.
-Mike |
I have no reason to believe this was the boat, but they did make one 37 triple.
Looks good, some nice stuff comes with this boat. |
i think the only triple was also the only straight bottom.
|
one of the cult members can clear this up im sure
|
Hopefully pat will let me know all.

Thanks SS Ive seen the listing before kinda how I know about the boat prior. But I like the no power thing now as I just built a set of 540's that will run 750 on the easy side.
|
It was the #1 boat. Twin HP 500s.
|
Pretty sure it was listed here with power/blower engines about a year ago for around 65k
|
i stand corrected
|
I still think about the staggered 37 in Branford.
|
me too but nothings happening with it and my boat is apart so im not selling it anytime soon. plus when im done with it i wont want to sell it haha

EDIT: Adam, you have a keeper... I wouldn't even consider selling that boat! |
SS want a nice cafe.........
-Mike PS. Pat speed with the HP 5's and 750 Merlins handling power speed and so on.... |
Sorry, while I really appreciate a super clean Cafe, I dont think I'd ever want to own one. Now a TS TG OTOH....
But thanks for offering. ;) |
85-90 mph seems kinda slow w/1000's ???? somethings wrong, have an old PBmag say's 80.6 w/ 500efi's spining labbed 30's @5300 straight bottom. maybe boat #1 was real heavy ??
just my 2cents. |
I looked at that thing on Ebay. Seems like a good price, but the drives scare me a bit.
On a side note... How the heck does an exhaust cost $20,000? I just don't see it... *** 302... wonna sell your boat in pieces? :-D |

You guys are forgetting about several things.
1) Back in those days, the boats were made without a hull liner. 2) Back in those days, the boats were fairly heavy due to current day construction techniques. 3) The step bottom 37' in early days was 13% more efficient than the straightbottoms. (Way too many variables have changed since to make an accurate comparison to today's step bottom 37AT.) 4) Hull liners were added as an option around 2002 time frame. This made the boats a little heavier with the additional structural component, but layup technology and materials were also bringing construction weight(s) down. 1 triple 37AT (straight bottom) was built and is still owned by the original owner. He also owns a rare 28AT twin SBC. |
Ok so the boat with 750 should do......
-Mike |
didnt see it on ebay Link???
-Mike |
You'd have to get rid of those drives too!!

just my 2cents. I'm still pretty sure that is the same boat that was for sale a while ago here, the engines were no way 1000hp. They had had B&M 420 blowers and were listed at 750hp or so. |
put the boat on a rotiserrie, roll her over, grab a saw zaw, and .....instant step..magic... anyone can do it. :party-smiley-004:

The boat ran 72mph with 500 HP Carb
|
I sold that boat to the owner in LA. When new with fresh
HP 500's, the boat ran mid 70's all day long and would crush snotty water like no tormorrow. It was hull #1 and back in the day was listed as a 36' boat. The guy came out of a 31' Sonic and was loving life with his new AT!!!! As hull #1, it could be a collector item!! Right Pat?? |
I know a guy that would try that, Jeff something or other.....
