ASD-7 on a 37 Pros & Cons
 

Any thoughts on ASD-7's on a 37 A/T ?

It was taked about in a thread in the past. If I remember right: it does not work well with the hull due to the AVH hull being designed for a regular drive. Bottom of notch to transom to prop.

Hustler and their 33 and 38 of which I have been on two..have had great success. It's all mind set..and yes there is less prop selection..and some what of a learning curve when rigging new..but no more than putting Ilmors in vs Merc...but the damn drives are extremely tough..handle well, dock better, reverse ok...just getting on plane takes about a second longer.

I have been talking back and forth with ASD on the set-up and all things point to one solid package with the 7's. I have seen other boats that have done the swap with great success step and non step alike and have been toying with the package on this hull and feel it would be a solid fit. Has there been any design review by Harry on the hull for serface drive application ?

The Bravos not holding up?

No issue with the billet bravos just have a deal on a set of asd's and would love to do the swap. Would be a pretty mean setup if they work on this hull.

Are they the bravo conversion??? If so, worst case is you go back to the bravo setup

I have spoke to Rik about it on my 37 as well. If I remember correctly, I heard or read that the hull was originally designed for a surface drive application. People have mixed reviews about them, I personally would like to go to a ASD but would like to see it done first.
