I don't miss those days. In my old storage unit I had to trim the drives down to get the boat in far enough to close the doors and even then they were jammed against the tongue.

Now it hangs here. (and no, the water normally isn't that high)

What does a loaded 37 weigh?

Depends on options. AC? Gen? Stereo? etc. etc.

8500-9500K lbs. for the boat (again: options)
~1K lbs. in fuel when full

I thought of taking it off the trailer but wasn`t comfortable doing that.

Don't know how it is in Chicago but IMO if you have the option of keeping the boat on a lift somewhere its well worth it. I haven't hooked up to my trailer in over a year.

Think you could get away with towing one with a 3/4 ton or single wheel 1 ton? Fully optioned with an aluminum trailer.

I really think you need one Craig. And I'm not just saying that because I want to ride in one.

I tow my loaded 37 OL, which has heavier #6 drives/beefy blower engines, and very heavy duty Myco steel trailer with my 3/4 ton SRW Ram. The brakes suck on the trailer (separate issue), but otherwise it tows with relative ease. I wouldn't think you'd have any issues at all towing a 37 AT with a SRW HD truck.
