I have a 97 tantrum serial number (on starboard side of block) k024234 (the4 maybe a 9) Casting number 10237297
Can anyone help me decode my engine I can not tell if its a Mag or 7.4 (I could not find the number on the front of the block by the waterpump on the small pad)

The Merc serial number for the engine is on a tab down by the starter and any Merc dealer can run it.

Its definately not as fast as when he had it. It must have been one heck of a ride at 100mph+ when he had 750hp+ a side in it.
He used to come on OSO once in a while. Haven't seen him post for a while.
