No problem.. Sounds to be a GREAT boat.. I am very envious. It is the perfect size for my lake and dock. If I were to step up in the future this is the perfect size.

Just wondering, sorry to harp on it, IF twin 496's were requested, could it be done? I realize it is not initially being built for this set up but would the size of the engine compartment and beam of the boat overall accomodate them?

Will give me motivation at work! :drink:

No. Mercury stopped building them 2 years ago.

I'm just guessing, but I would bet that twin BBC's would throw the Center of Gravity way out wack and it wouldn't ride on the step as it was designed.

Thanks Griff.. I had thought of that as well. Would be interested to hear what Pat thinks.

Not available from Merc but twin LS series small blocks would be the ticket!! 427 or 454 cubic inches, all aluminum smallblock engine with big block power and torque. Easy 650 power at around a liveable 6000-6500 rpm. 550 power around 5200. Closed cooling for long life. I'm working on a project with an LS7 427 in a smaller boat. Half the weight of a big block.

That is what I was talking about when I posted the ILMOR LS pictures, that would be a nice little package.

I have thought of it for my 28 fountain,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
