Relisted project 37, buyer backed out for personal reasons...
I sure hope it sells soon. I've probably fielded 50 inquiries on it in the past 3 months.

So whats the deal with it? Is it in that bad of shape? Those 3 pics look good...but could be a lot of hidden damage.

1. The same person that starts threads and asks questions about anything and everything does not respond to questions in his own ad. 2. No real details about it are ever posted and pics were just posted for the first time and do not show any specifics. No price listed. It makes it seem like there is some big secret about the boat. 3. It needs engines and drives at a cost of 50-70k, a trailer (now) 10-15k, and probably another 20-40k in wiring, cables, misc and paint/fiberglass repair, interior, etc. It will need 80-100k thrown at it and it will still be a boat that went over and sunk in salt water. Unless its gutted and refurbed by the AT factory, it will never be a boat that is easy to resell. |
Where are the orig 525 motors? drives? trailer? hell if they sold before boat was sold it pretty much should of paid for the salvage value of the project otherwise any senseable person would keep it together to make it more marketable??? It has to make sense dollar wise:daz:
No response from owner in a few days on this one, it sounds pretty fishy. Can we even get some closer pictures? piucs of the cabin? Price?
The boats on Ebay with the same pics and discription, I dont think the seller is willing to put out any more information publicly
Yea i asked about it no response so f'''k it,, he can keep it along with all the secrets no time for games!!!
Owner went to FLA this weekend. Im sure he'll be back on here soon.

It's so hard to resist the temptation of responding to every post in this thread! :drink:
Here's another bump... |
More pictures have been posted on ebay.... eeek!
No trailer is the big killer for me.
What all are you doing to your 37? LV kept that thing clean as a whistle and went through everything after he purchased it. Were there some hidden items or are you talking about the expense of adding the big big power and 6's?
For what the seller said his bottom dollar was, the boat simply was not even worth going to look at. I was told $46k with motors... But obviously they would need to be gone through (20k in itself) and a new interior installed. Griff said it best when he said that AT would have to redo it if you wanted the perception of the boat to be right again

I have to guess that it would cost more to fix this boat than to have Pat build a new one. Not sure I would have believed it until I started redoing my 37 OL......

This is a great PROJECT for the do it yourselfer, if your writing checks not so much, if I could spare the cash it would already be in my shop. Tried to do a deal with Adam month's ago. Hope someone picks it up AT's are a great boat, and this one still has lots of potential, it being an 06 center entry cabin are a big + for me. just saying
None of the pics show any of the fiberglass damage. Bid is at 12.9k...better take it and run! Would take 100k to make it 100% again.
What am I missing here..... Walk me thru this, if the hull is solid the gimbles are good then it needs:
New Wiring New Foam and upholstry New Motors New Drives Yeah I under stand if I am writing a check to rebuilt it. It would get expensive, but if a true do-it yourself was to take this job and take a year and buy parts as you go thru the year. How can this cost more then new. |
It needs a fair amount of glass work, then paint along with everything else mentioned
Anybody know how it got this way?

Oh an let me predict the eBay outcome " my kid bid on it without me knowing, he thought I'd like it as a project" heard that one 3 times this year
Not in person but have a friend that drove out and looked at it, took a few pics..matter of fact I even have a couple of them. Mostly cosmetic but still needs fixed and painted

Even if you put a 100k into this project, still much cheaper than new. And could do the build the way YOU want it, 100% fresh everything in the end. Or buy a new one @ 300k ++++
Just my 2cts. worth |
SO is this boat worth the going price or not? Some ppl say yes, some ppl no...
Its hard to tell the fiberglass work needed from pics. Anybody have any other ones? |
It's a 06 37 Active Thunder Excess. NADA Low value with 525's is 145k without a trailer. If you pick the thing up for 15k and document the repairs how could you go wrong? Even better - buy it for 15 and sell me the swim platform for a grand. Then you are only in it for 14, take your time and do it right.
Just my .02 - could be a damn nice piece. |

Just my .02 - could be a damn nice piece. The last 37 that sold was a 2008 with 525's and only needed some very minor cosmetic work. It had under 100hrs and sold for under 120k with trailer Stealin Thunder is a 2007 and in pristine condition and is listed at $134,500 with trailer. |
