I sure hope it sells soon. I've probably fielded 50 inquiries on it in the past 3 months.

jeff32 04-21-2012 08:46 PM

need more details ! sunk boat?

fast times 04-22-2012 10:24 AM

smokin' gun 04-22-2012 10:41 AM

i dont understand why this hasent sold ive seen this personally bought the trailer from it .to much talk on this site scares people off .a boat that sank doesnt scare me at all

Rambocj7 04-22-2012 07:47 PM

So whats the deal with it? Is it in that bad of shape? Those 3 pics look good...but could be a lot of hidden damage.

I can tell you why

1. The same person that starts threads and asks questions about anything and everything does not respond to questions in his own ad.

2. No real details about it are ever posted and pics were just posted for the first time and do not show any specifics. No price listed. It makes it seem like there is some big secret about the boat.

3. It needs engines and drives at a cost of 50-70k, a trailer (now) 10-15k, and probably another 20-40k in wiring, cables, misc and paint/fiberglass repair, interior, etc. It will need 80-100k thrown at it and it will still be a boat that went over and sunk in salt water. Unless its gutted and refurbed by the AT factory, it will never be a boat that is easy to resell.

kilrbusa 04-23-2012 03:23 AM

Where are the orig 525 motors? drives? trailer? hell if they sold before boat was sold it pretty much should of paid for the salvage value of the project otherwise any senseable person would keep it together to make it more marketable??? It has to make sense dollar wise:daz:

SVT 04-23-2012 07:05 AM

No response from owner in a few days on this one, it sounds pretty fishy. Can we even get some closer pictures? piucs of the cabin? Price?

Blown96w 04-23-2012 07:11 AM

The boats on Ebay with the same pics and discription, I dont think the seller is willing to put out any more information publicly

rssteiny 04-23-2012 07:58 AM

Yea i asked about it no response so f'''k it,, he can keep it along with all the secrets no time for games!!!

kreed 04-23-2012 10:23 AM

No trailer is the big killer for me.

1980Condor460 04-24-2012 09:41 PM

What all are you doing to your 37? LV kept that thing clean as a whistle and went through everything after he purchased it. Were there some hidden items or are you talking about the expense of adding the big big power and 6's?

AJ POWERPLAY 04-25-2012 01:53 AM

For what the seller said his bottom dollar was, the boat simply was not even worth going to look at. I was told $46k with motors... But obviously they would need to be gone through (20k in itself) and a new interior installed. Griff said it best when he said that AT would have to redo it if you wanted the perception of the boat to be right again

It adds up fast doesn't it! Hopefully it's all worth it in the end!!!

This is a great PROJECT for the do it yourselfer, if your writing checks not so much, if I could spare the cash it would already be in my shop. Tried to do a deal with Adam month's ago. Hope someone picks it up AT's are a great boat, and this one still has lots of potential, it being an 06 center entry cabin are a big + for me. just saying

Drock78 04-25-2012 07:39 AM

None of the pics show any of the fiberglass damage. Bid is at 12.9k...better take it and run! Would take 100k to make it 100% again.

boomer 04-25-2012 07:40 AM

What am I missing here..... Walk me thru this, if the hull is solid the gimbles are good then it needs:

New Wiring
New Foam and upholstry
New Motors
New Drives

Yeah I under stand if I am writing a check to rebuilt it. It would get expensive, but if a true do-it yourself was to take this job and take a year and buy parts as you go thru the year. How can this cost more then new.

Drock78 04-25-2012 07:44 AM

It needs a fair amount of glass work, then paint along with everything else mentioned

boomer 04-25-2012 07:46 AM

Anybody know how it got this way?

Have you seen it in person? Buddy of mine looked it over pretty well and there is not that much damage, I also can't see where you come up with 100k to fix it unless someone dropped it off as is and picked it back up turn key new power on a new trailer

Unlimited jd 04-25-2012 07:54 AM

Oh an let me predict the eBay outcome " my kid bid on it without me knowing, he thought I'd like it as a project" heard that one 3 times this year

Drock78 04-25-2012 07:56 AM

Not in person but have a friend that drove out and looked at it, took a few pics..matter of fact I even have a couple of them. Mostly cosmetic but still needs fixed and painted

Word on the street is the original owners kid took it out for a joy ride one day without papa's permission. From there several stories emerge. I don't know which one I've heard I believe personaly so ill let you fabricate your own that results in this boat sitting in its current state of condition.

I will say Adam is a good guy for helping me score my new floatila tho!

I'm not sure you're going to get the true answer publicly, although the PC story that everyone seems to agree on and is plublic knowledge is that it rolled and went for a salt bath.

I hope someone fixes it, it's a sharp looking boat.

No hidden items, just updating the things LV didn't get to and adding bling/color to cockpit. The cabin is the big project as you can see from the picture. The problem is that once you update one thing, it makes something else look dated. No 6's, I will be putting SCX's on with my power. As things start coming together, I'll put some pics up in the OL forum.

Indeed!

overlimits 04-25-2012 09:48 AM

Even if you put a 100k into this project, still much cheaper than new. And could do the build the way YOU want it, 100% fresh everything in the end. Or buy a new one @ 300k ++++

Just my 2cts. worth

Rambocj7 04-25-2012 11:01 AM

SO is this boat worth the going price or not? Some ppl say yes, some ppl no...

Its hard to tell the fiberglass work needed from pics. Anybody have any other ones?

1980Condor460 04-25-2012 11:20 AM

It's a 06 37 Active Thunder Excess. NADA Low value with 525's is 145k without a trailer. If you pick the thing up for 15k and document the repairs how could you go wrong? Even better - buy it for 15 and sell me the swim platform for a grand. Then you are only in it for 14, take your time and do it right.

Just my .02 - could be a damn nice piece.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that it could be a good deal, but I think you would need to do a lot of the work yourself to come out on it. And like you said, it would absolutely have to be documented for resale.

Drock78 04-25-2012 11:45 AM

As long as you realize that your going to have 100k into it when your done, sure.

NADA of 145k has nothing to do with market value.

The last 37 that sold was a 2008 with 525's and only needed some very minor cosmetic work. It had under 100hrs and sold for under 120k with trailer

Stealin Thunder is a 2007 and in pristine condition and is listed at $134,500 with trailer.

That 2008 needed more than minor work. Probably $20-25K worth, and that's before you dug into the generator to find out why it wouldn't start. That boat was fire saled by the original owner who bought it cash. And, that trailer was, uh, rough. One boat does not set a market.

Stealin' Thunder is a great deal, turnkey.
