Default Another Wind Screen Question...

So I bought wind flaps from finny's last year with a custom made rail that was suppose to mount to the lip under the fearing behind the crash pad. The rail would have stuck up over the ferring and looked like shi!t, so I didnt install it. I have two ideas and I'm trying to deside which one will work/look the best...

1) Mount a grab rail on top of the ferring where it becomes flat at the edge, and mount the wind flaps to these. My problem with this idea is, where do I attach the rails? Is there someway I could bolt them on from underneath or would I have to have a rail made with a flange on it for screws? This might not look the best...

2) Have a wind screen made and mount behind crash pad. How do you remove and replace the crash pad without damaging it?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

The rails that got fabricated with the wind flaps are suppose to mount to that same ledge, only they are U shapped and stick up over the crash pad. The wind flaps have circular mounts on them to attach to the rail. I was thinking about mounting a 2'' tall rail (powdercoated white) to the flat edge of the ferring instead...
