what are the differences if any? construction? materials? X dimension?

correct me if im wrong, dont think any different. When i was asking about the x got different answers, mines pretty low but power seems to over come that somewhat. Are you looking at one?

I believe that in 98 they went to a woodless transom / stringer design.

Thats what I've always heard. My 98 is composite.
