Mine is good for about 95 as well and I think that sounds about right. I also think your original owner had a fast truck.;)

Don't know. I wasn't there, so I won't question his integrity. I did have more throttle at 95, so I'm sure there was more speed, especially if you lightened the load. The important thing to me was the incredible ride at that speed without turning crazy RPM. Thx for the feedback.

That's one of the best, real-life statements I've seen on the site. What many are looking for in the end.

Thinking about putting mine on the market - or trying to find some stock power. Anyone have any leads on some 525 or 575's?

Thanks. I'm an old guy and really don't care about going tripple digits. BUT, mid-90s in a 37' wave crushing v-bottom is an awesome experience. Everybody ought to try it at least once!! :lolhit:

1980Condor460 08-27-2012 03:21 PM

I am with you there - I had a power issue so I didn't get to run it after the Shootout when it gets crazy. However, Wednesday through Saturday morning it was a wave crushing machine. We were a little late getting to the fun run and found ourselves in a lot of wash off of the rocks. I looked over at my co pilot and he was drinking coffee while we were running over 80.
What power do you have in yours to reach Mid 90's plus? I have/had a couple of dyno proven 630hp - XR drives - 31 4 blade bravo 1's and didn't quite see those numbers. I tried some 34 bravo 1's but they would blow out right before I could get on plane.

I have a set of Young Performance 572s making about 720. I run 33 p5x Hydros or 34 Bravos.

BBlades did my 34s in an attempt to get me on plane. They put a ton of cup in them and in doing so pulled about 7mph off of them. I guess you could say they are a work in progress. These engines are originally Teaque 720s that spin crazy high RPMs. I was running 95 at about 6200 with 32 bravos before my rebuild. When Eddie got done with them they were chipped at 6000. They do have Teague Platinum drives behind them.

ActiveThunder 08-28-2012 06:03 PM

I have a set of labbed Merc 34 bravos on the shelf. Used twice. Let 'em go for $1200.00. No negotiation.

1980Condor460 08-28-2012 06:22 PM

Thanks Pat - I have a set of 34's. Sounds like I need to get my stuff back together then go to 5 blades.

I kind of agree with Pat. The Hydro is good out of the box and will save you some money if you just want an everyday prop. The Bravo can't be beat for top end. Pat will say a Maximus cut down to 15" and if you want to spend the money he's right. I must say that after I've been through all of these props I wish I had a good set of Maxi's.

I have the original 32's that pat put on mine new... everything i have tried hasnt been as good. All the lapdancing etc. Hasnt done done chit. I turned these 32's to 5800+ two weeks ago in Narragansett bay in perfect conditions... but gps quit the first leg of the run... all i know is at 5400 its 94. Up there was the first chance in good water this year. Just wish i could have seen the number. I think ill just stick with these plain ole props!

94 @ 5400 is 14% slip with your set up that is proped as good as it gets.

A GPS pic with a hundred would have been nice. Lapdancing? LOL, I think I know where I can get that process done at. Doug

Somewhere over the pond?? :evilb:

Yeah... it wont go a hundred. I think by running the numbers at 16% slip that was knockin on 98. The Cig i was runnin with was just ticking 100 and he was barely gettin by me. He said i was doing 97-98. Im happy with it. The most impressive part was running back from Block island on friday in an 8 foot following sea at 45 mph. A storm front was coming up long island sound... seas report was forcasting 10 plus on the front. Ask OCD... he was with me.... it was nasty!!

Pat,
I might be interested in the props since the repower, I don't know if the 34's will be big enough though! I guess if I drop the lowers to 1.36's they could work. You know, it's not easy staying ahead of that damn pilot!:D

Repower.... when are you gonna run that? During your 1 month boating season up there? Now if you would have built a side entry....:evilb:

Is it a sellers market for ATs all of a sudden?
Hardly. These folks are all looking for serious deals; some unrealistic, to be honest.

But for those of you who would sell; you are not going to do so unless you advertise it and put it out there.

If you are not in a rush to sell your boat, put that in the ad. If you are not going below a certain dollar, put that in the ad.
But I will tell you this: don't lose a buyer over a couple months of a season left, or a few bucks on the table between you.

Bottom line, put it out there. Craigslist, OSO, Boattrader, Powerboatlistings, etc. etc.

Just my 2 Centavos.

Where are all these buyers ? Mine has been listed for over a month at a great price and the phones not ringing :angry-smiley-044:

The problem is unless you have a ton of money to put down and a credit score of 800 plus with very little debt the performance boat market is tough.
