Ebb and flow; AT sales.
At different parts of the year, and over the past few years...
I have a couple names and numbers of people that tell me "I'll sell my boat for the right price." Lately, I've had the inverse. I've probably had 10 emails, PMs, and calls over the past few weeks from folks that are looking for 25s, 28s, 32s, and even 37s. Is it a sellers market for ATs all of a sudden? Hardly. These folks are all looking for serious deals; some unrealistic, to be honest. But for those of you who would sell; you are not going to do so unless you advertise it and put it out there. If you are not in a rush to sell your boat, put that in the ad. If you are not going below a certain dollar, put that in the ad. But I will tell you this: don't lose a buyer over a couple months of a season left, or a few bucks on the table between you. Bottom line, put it out there. Craigslist, OSO, Boattrader, Powerboatlistings, etc. etc. Just my 2 Centavos. |
Brian. Sent you e-mail give me a call.

I am looking for one of each...anyone have some money I can borrow?
|
I have had 4 written offers on my boat. 1 fell through to a wife putting her foot down, and 3 to inability for the buyer to get financing. Cash or Assets anyone?

So now that the one guy is divorced is he going to get the boat. |
The exact reason im skeptical to sell my 32 and make a move on a 37 is the financing bs is almost impossible to get these days.

We have financing options/contacts on new boats.
The biggest thing about financing a used boat is you must have liquidity after you make the required downpayment. The lender wants you to have some flow to maintain the boat after you own it so they have a reasonable expectation you will help to hold the boat's value over the life of the loan as you own it. |

Brian, I am considering selling Big Decisiion. I can chat with you about "why." You saw the boat last weekend at the Hampton run, so you know it is solid. I will try to get my thoughts together on $$ soon and run some ads. Justs FYI, in case you run across someone that is looking for a super clean '09 37 with 525's with Whipples.

So what else may potentially be coming to market in the 37 range?

I can vouch for the 37 also, awesome boat for sell their!
Good Luck Joe. PS tell the wife I said HI! (had to add that) lol |
i haven't called you, but I have posted on here looking for a boat. not sure it's a buyer market but the only one I came across I referenced an old AT dealer and he told me it was too much for the hrs and yr. He fully agrees with why I want an AT but said, he sees them not selling when they are unreasonable regardless of how rare they are. I'm an AT fan but it's hard to not look the other way when I see a bigger boat for the same price if I'm willing to settle for a name like Donzi, Sonic, or Fountain-none of which are my favorite but are also not embarrising to be behind the wheel. I'm seeing great deals out there on boats in general. Some sitting since the beginning of summer, so I'm just waiting for somebody to get ready to sell for a bargain. I think we are all in it for the bargain. An AT, I would pay what it's worth though, but not more.

Good luck with your search. I looked long and hard when I found my 37. I was willing to take a chance on a New York boat knowing I was going to have to go through it. Awesome boat - beautiful lines and that big ass patented AVH step kicks butt. However - these are custom boats. I don't think any two are alike and you get what you pay for. There is a reason we are called "The Cult".
What size, year range and HP are you looking for? Once again good luck with your search. |

We try to leave Obnoxus behind, but he follows whereever we go! Same with BZ! |
Sorry but what is EBB and FLOW?

Ebb and flow = up and down, in and out. You know...like the tide?
Tons of room, which is why I was interested in the first place. But the ride...oh the ride...won me over in a way I didn't think it would. Its not a huge wavecrusher like a Cig or Apache or Sonic...still rides nice and light...I like to "feel" the water a bit (my 35 is good for that!). Dammit...I can't wait to see it again in a couple weeks! |
I think what ever I get I will still want an AT deep in side. I missed one about 3 years ago. 28 twin engine, low hours, for 34 and that is where it all started for me. I didn't have the money then. only 28 i know available is due for an overhaul. it's a nice boat now, but I would have more than book value and what I could sell it for even if I bought it at what I thought was a fair price, therefore I can't pay what guy thinks it's worth to him. kinda heart breaking, maybe i'll win the lottery one day and just go buy one new. I hear the 28 sonic porpouses alot so I've got my eye on a couple 99-01 donzi 28zx's with low hours in the 25 range. I haven't pulled the trigger yet as the cabin is disappointing and there's still some time before summer ends. maybe, just maybe I'll get lucky and be part of the AT cult.

"ebb and Flow" sounds like my brain waves...
I still have thoughts of selling my 25, but then I look at what I would replace it with. I start looking for something that rides like a 28, faster than most twins, and easy to stor- and I end up back at my 25 Thunder. |

You have an awesome ride! Although I love the power, I want to stay with an 87 octane boat as we travel too much and 91 and 93 octane are hard to find on the water. Awesome boats! |

To say my search process has/had been arduous would be pretty much right on. I have scoured the interwebs over the past 6 months, and have had a serious wanton eye on the 37 AT market for a number of years. As a "serious" searcher for the past 1/2 year, I have been open to just about all brands. My short list ended up being 42 Fountain, 38 Sonic, 37 AT, 37/39 Outerlimits, and 39 Nortech. I needed a nice cabin to really justify the move, so the Cig (always my dream boat) was out. I am very familiar with the 42 Fountain, and a Lightning would fit the bill, but compared to some of the others, the cabin was, again, found to be lacking. The Sonic has it all...except a stepped hull...plus they are heavy and generally known to be drive-killers as a result. Got on a couple 38 Nortechs...they are a strange, tall, narrow boat...very shallow rear bench seat. The 39 Nortechs are mostly newer and the cost is prohibitive (I was looking to stay under $180k). The Outerlimits are beautiful boats, but unless I wanted to buy an older Stiletto or find a "deal" on a 39 Quattro, the money was again an issue. For the record, the 39 that is in WI was very high on my list, only the "full cabin" advertised isn't even CLOSE to the AT. The Active Thunder fit all my criteria perfectly...AND they are priced right, IMO. Worth every dollar. Ecstatic, that is a GORGEOUS piece, good luck with the sale.

Yeah, selling. Mixed emotions, but I think it is the right decision for me right now. I won't be too disappointed if it doesn't sell.
