We will have the plug done within the next 60 days so we can build the mold. That takes about 30 days.

Also in the works, not design but works,is the new center entry dash pods for the latest 33, 565 boat, as well as the 29 which should be just tecky enough for our style.

I have had my eye on the ball and since Fountain, Donzi, Sonic, Pantera and now Checkmate, the latest casualty, offer nothing for the entry level boater and we will take that market over once again. You will see AT have a major domination in the single engine high performance market for east coast builders for what is considered affordable, custom high performance boats.

I would love to see the 29 with the 502 Merc. run low to mid 70s but still be available to boaters in the very low 100s. This entire business has become nuts in cost. This is a business as well as a passion but I would really enjoy getting people back into performance boating and quit 'jumping ship' since center consoles fit their budgets better. I hate CCs....

Keep ya posted.

BUP 05-20-2013 10:49 PM

wonder why CC have not taken over in the west coast as they have on the east coast ? I really do not see why CC boats have taken over especially for alot of builders including at the Miami show. Ten years ago Miami was all Cruisers and Sportboats. Now its CC boats and wakeboard boats are coming into play at the show. Boring

Love it Pat, saving my pennies for that one, hopefully I'll be ready :evilb:

Is the 29 going to be a DDC hull? Are you going to discontinue the 28?

JUPITER PULSARE 05-21-2013 04:30 PM

Maybe it's time to hunt down the 25' AT molds and bring the boat back to life with a small step insert!!?? There are still alot of 25' AT fans out there!!

Yes and yes.

cosmic12 05-21-2013 06:17 PM

Glad its still in the works. The market does need the size range for sure I just wish it didn't demand the shingle :-)

ActiveThunder 05-21-2013 06:42 PM

No worries......

The step is an insert so you can still be about 12% slower.....

I would insert a smiley or something but I can't find where they are. Also I would spell check but can't find that button. And where is the "preview post" button?

Crossett 05-21-2013 06:49 PM

The step will prevent you from being able to power them with twin small blocks?

Click the "go advanced" button. It will preview anything you've typed and you'll see the smileys.

Speed isn't the end all be all for me. Just make a smiley like this :-) :-) :-)

If I remember correctly, the 25 mold got destroyed in a hurricane.

If I remember correctly and I could be wrong,I am old, they were being used for a CC out board unless that place burnt down.

The 25' mold was it's own mold, derived from the original molds that Pat purchased and built the company upon. It was not the CC mold. The CC mold was used for the 28' for the first few years.
Regardless, they are both gone now.

Knot 4 Me 05-22-2013 02:51 PM

I wish AT the best with the new 29. Sunny's 288 remains in the market and isn't selling so not sure how much demand there will be. I hope plenty. Please, no AT vs. Sunny BS. It is just one example and probably the closest in the proposed price point (at least in the S model) as opposed to the 29 Hustler, 29 OL, etc.

Ya I know that, I'm not that old! I took the last 25 from him that was built up north on my trailer from that shop the last day he was there. I was told by Pat that he sold the 25 tooling to a guy to build CC's and I know my 1st 28 was from the CC outboardmold with all the rocker and that my 2nd one was from the 32 with a dam in the mold.

camptappakeg69 05-22-2013 04:52 PM

So just thinkin about my limited new boat budget here....what would the savings be to derig my aging tantrum and rig a new 29 hull with my freshened up 502mag and drivetrain?

ActiveThunder 05-22-2013 05:21 PM

Apples and oranges on the Sunsation but no offense.

The point being is it will run down either the OL or Hustler all day long with amenities in snotty water. Maybe not top end speed at 100 mph but it won't be a potato chip or spit the occupants out as history has shown. Deep cockpit, overnighter with style. What else do you need?

I just think anybody that spends anywheres over $150 k on a single engine boat with no amenities has lost their minds.

I'm building the mold and one boat. If somebody likes it and buys one, so be it. If not, my kids will have a nice affordable toy.

And to clarify the 28 newer Vs are derived from the 32. Now add another 10-12% top end......:evilb:

Then add one more ingredient, the Mercury HP 565. Nice.It will run 85 all day long.

R u willing to adopt children I mean 31 year old child? I would really enjoy if my parents owned a custom boat building company. Can't wait to see some pics or even videos of it running. Keep up the great work pat and crew....

Yes I did, I was quoted then told that the 25 was "NOT" from a CC mold and I never said it was and knew it wasn't Just that you told me it was sold to a guy to build CC outboards.
No need to duck, just don't understand where that came from I do remember whats what where when and how. Most of the time anyway. :-)

state1310 05-22-2013 07:46 PM

Read it again. I quoted your "I'm not that old". That's where the response came from.

I'm curious too...how much would a blank hull be. Or would it just not be worth Pats time to do such a thing? Any speed est. with my 800hp hehe

Understand the differences. The point is the 288 Sunny used to sell. It doesn't anymore. So hopefully your new boat is immune to the forces which led to that boat's diminished sales.

Gladhe8er 05-23-2013 08:51 AM

Is the first 29 getting a 565? I thought I remember Pat saying #1 would have a Seven Marine 557 HP OB...

ActiveThunder 05-23-2013 08:51 AM

To answer a couple of PMs I received:

The nose and cabin will be the same length and size. We are changing the center deck where it dips down and making it similar to the new 33s. The length will be added to the cockpit and engine bay making the cockpit about 6" longer and the engine bay/ sunpad the same additional 6".

ActiveThunder 05-23-2013 08:54 AM

The jury is out on the engine. It will be an I/O however unless somebody wants to step up and order an O/B boat.

I welcome opinions on this! It could change. However if we did go O/B it would need to be Mercs.

Yup I know and I said I am old but not that old to forget whats what, why and when. Sorry if I was mixing you up in the confuzion, just trying to splain it all.
Its all good.

Sydwayz 05-23-2013 07:57 PM

Rick, I've never ridden in one; rare beast for sure. I do remember they were laid out really nice.

While not the offshore crusher that the 32 Offshore was (is), it was still a solid enough boat that Adrenaline purchased the mold and turned it into the Adrenaline-V.
