I heard from a local guy who been around a bit, that the bottom was a old 31 Excalibur Mold, and the deck was pulled from a Sonic? Is that true?

I know Excalibur in the late 70's had a straight 31 Vee bottom. Then somehow Reggie was involved, and Excalibur then had a 31 pad bottom. Then reggie had a 10 meter pad bottom.

So would it be safe to say the 32 AT owners are cousins with a Fountain, sonic, and Tuff Noogies?

Yes. It is all true.

That is the exact reason I stopped building the 32. I had lawsuits from 3 other companies for infringements. As part of the deal cutting up those boat molds, sadly, were something I agreed to do..

That's really cool stuff. (not the lawsuits but the boat hulls).

Its amazing how many boats came from this or that. I remember a buddy had a 31 pad bottom Excalibur, and the boat was darn fast for the power it had.

That it was after I was involved. Go to US trademarks and you will see I did this in 1994 under Active Thunder Boats. I wanted to be at the front of the phone book.

Ziggy was Cannon Powerboats. Never Active Thunder. My first boat from these molds was a Cannon Powerboat. The name sucked. I bought it and changed it.

No, I made that part up. We were using the 32 hull mold for the 28. It will become obsolete, too, when the 29 is done.

Bob who?

Bob Oetringer (sp?) he goes by throttleman on here. I've heard a bunch of times on here that he designed the 32 originally. Here's a quote I found:

Thunder Boats was started by Bob Oetringer,he sold the molds and they eventually became Active Thunder. Bob can be reached at [email protected] and is located in North Ft. Meyers. He is one of the good guys out there and does a great job on anything he works on. Bud

x2! Thunderboat Bob. That boat currently sits at his "compound" in N. Ft. Myers. He's a fantastic guy and a hellova boat builder/restorer. He's a wealth of knowledge and one of the good guys.

I've had lunch and drinks with him and seemed like a "good guy".

However I bought the molds from the gentleman that owned them, bank rolled the company and was never paid back. He was in a hurry to take my money when I mentioned one large check and added "today".

The company was only a coupla years old when this all happened. I believe inception was '89 and first sold to "Ziggy" in '93 and I bought the molds in '94ish.
