There was a yellow one called Billy the Kid I remember from Hammond, IN about 10 years ago. There was a Hummer pulling it...

LOTOWONTOPGUN 10-25-2012 10:06 PM

Northernoffshore
that is the first one and is the boat that is on the cover of power boat mag had a very impressive write up for a new guy on the seen. He made his mark.

northernoffshore 10-25-2012 10:34 PM

sold to a guy in az, has trs drives Hynautic steering and 500+ hp motors. Last time I saw it was the test drive (around'98) in lake michigan. the water was so big we could not get a chris cat on plane. Btw I know where the yellow boat and running hot are so that's 2 more.

POWERPLAY J 10-25-2012 10:43 PM

I remember wanting to buy Runnin Hot before I got the PP. Still a lil sorry I didn't go through with it.

LOTOWONTOPGUN 10-25-2012 10:46 PM

Is the yellow one that you know of (billy the kid) if so i put it on the list ?
Thanks

northernoffshore 10-25-2012 11:32 PM

not sure i will ask. There is also 2 on the chain of lakes ,Il . 1 is owned by someone named cliff and the other 1 was built as an outboard boat with a bracket but the owner changed his mind and converted it to bb bravo boat. that 1 is all white with a red interior.

overlimits 10-26-2012 06:11 PM

The was an older AT at LOTO a 3-4 years ago. I think the owner told me it was a 1992. It was mostly original and for sale at the time. It had side by side front bolsters and was mostly white.
Then there is this one which was listed for sale in the Spring here and at Pier57. I think its a 1994 and a pre Pat boat.
Pics were on MWBP from the Chain O Lakes River Shiver Run.

Excellent. I think that is one of the last straightbottoms IIRC. Enjoy it!

boatfreak 01-18-2013 11:43 PM

I was thinking I saw that he had the 37 from Kentucky. It belonged to a guy, maybe named Vinny, that owned a strip club in Lexington. If I'm right the boat sat at State Dock all of last year and I think it belonged to a bank. Like I said I may have the wrong boat but if I'm right really check the thing out.

The 37 straight bottom???? I noticed it disappeared from the classifieds. It looked like a really clean boat.

Best Revenge is now owned by Harasin; here on OSO (in Indiana)...

...but that boat was built by Pat; hence an Active Thunder, not a "Thunder" which is before Pat bought the company.

There were 2 yellow boats.

Also 2 94s. One with 465s and one with 500s.

Great picture.

TUI was short lived Thunder Power Boats. A guy named Ziggy came in and bailed it out for about two years. Under Ziggy it was something like CPB. Both good boats.

ATD is Active Thunder Boats is what I have built for almost 2 decades.

He was the original owner. Ziggy bought it from Oteringer.

Now we know why 'Lil' Haughey's favorite boat is a 29 Fountain. :poopoo:

LOTOWONTOPGUN 03-14-2013 11:44 PM

You pay more for a 32 that is 31'6''
You pay less insurance on a 31' that is 31'6'' then a 32 that is 31'6''
Did you get that.
I have a brochure from before ZIggy time that has Active Thunder Thunder Boats on it.
If Bob O had not built the 31 you would not have the 32 today.
The point of Roll Call is to put a light on the original boats the first ones that Bob built.

Ziggy went to cheaper core material on his boats.

Well actually we wouldn't have the 28. The 32s production was stopped in 2002.

And Ziggy didn't cheap out on the one he built me. It was indestructible. He might have switched to Balsa core and I don't remember what Oteringer was using but as long as the transom and stringers were built from plyrot, what's the difference? You don't cut or drill holes in the hull sides or deck below the water line.

I obviously liked my boat or we wouldn't be where we are today, correct?

As far as insurance you would actually pay less for the slower boat and I KNOW the 32 was .2 mph slower.
