Looks like the electronics on top of the manifold require notching the drip rail around the back. Guess its not just a bolt in 525 replacement.

First one with Merc 565's? The cabin looks killer, nice job. Red is sooo overdone...

activator40 02-16-2013 08:13 AM

Nice finishwork

Drock78 02-16-2013 08:33 AM

I saw your post before you changed it. That was a good observation and solution.

Truth be told we had cut the "x" and did not know Mercury had moved all the computers for this engine back and up top hence interfering with the lip.

We honestly have to put these out the door with 100% mercury parts for the warranties. However XR shortees would be an option as well.

What we ended up doing is building a new engine hatch. You can see the plug a few posts back. This will cure all the problems and actually make our engine hatch pads easier to build and install.

You coulda left it unedited but thanks for making it a positive note.

Pat

This may be a stupid question but have you ever color matched the vinyl to the boat? That would look sweet with a red cockpit. No offense to you in previous post, I am just not a fan of red.

Kinda what I was thinking.....

Anyways I think it will be bad ass. And the new owner does too. All that matters to me!

There is an OL up here. Looks cool with the spots.

LOTOWONTOPGUN 02-16-2013 09:00 PM

Pat Nice job. Engine room and cabin can't get much better.
I don't see a grab bar for the front seat passenger is that something that is needed.
You have come a long way.
Just think in ten or fifteen years some one will have one killer used boat.

I am pretty stoked to see the new hatch & profile. I may need one of those.

FWIW, there are at least 15, sometimes as many as 19 defined storage compartments in the cabin, depending on options (cooler, fridge, AC/Heat, microwave.) I've never seen anything that compares. Such really helps to keep things organized especially on poker runs, long trips, and such from ending up as 'cabin salad' on the floor.

ICDEDPPL 02-16-2013 10:11 PM

This isn`t the owners previous boat is it
